Are you saying that, if it happened and Lamar doesn't admit it, then documents could exist but an open records request wouldn't reveal them? Just asking questions.
If documents exist, then it is the county's duty to provide them. Obviously, they don't exist.

This has been topix speculation for years but there is absolutely no proof, facts, or documents to support it.

I will simply say this:

Offenses Involving Public Records and Documents

A public officer or any other person who steals, alters, forges, defaces, or falsifies any records or documents, including minutes or digital records, shall be guilty of a felony if convicted and be subject to imprisonment for 2 to 10 years. Under this statue, willfully removing public records from the premises of the public office is considered stealing the records.

This should be food for thought to the ones that are helping Lamar to cover this up. They know about the theft and are still covering up and can be just as guilty as the person taking the money.

So? That's stating a law. Nothing more.
You have no proof any law was broken.

Furthermore, where do you get off saying how taxes should be spent. You call Paris "King" - who do you think you are? Queen?

For Christ's sake, woman, you do not speak for the entire county, just a handful of complainers on this forum.

Your success has been minimal, at least.

ACOG you are no body in a county full of somebodies who like what we have or we wouldn't live here.

Now, your buddies will all chime in. That's good, because it makes you feel like you have support. Lord knows your ego needs it.

This is the only place that reports it and no one else has ever mentioned it, so that tells me it is more conspiracy theory.
If there are NO documents, it appears there is no theft?
No One report Griggs either but guess what it was a fact and this is also. This happened before Joy Griggs and Lamar has tried to sweep it under the rug but it is fixing to come back to haunt as are several things. If you want to hear the news you had better start paying attention on topix because it's the only place you will hear it in Union County.

Well Just who does say how taxes are spent. She is suppose to pay them and then shut her mouth and let blow hards like you decide what it should go for? I don't think so. Anyway the tree is going to be shook all the way down to the roots and bad apples like you will fall off.

Linda reminds me a bit of Babe Ruth or Hank Aaron. Everyone knows about how many home runs they hit - but not so many know how often they also struck out, or just got enough of a piece of the ball to foul it back into the upper decks.
Sometimes they missed. Sometimes they just got a piece of it. But by golly they swung with gusto, and sooner orlater "CRACK" and another one was out of the park!
Linda, keep swingin! In many eyes you are still the record holder in Blairsville:)

To many people know the family involved and the circumstance. County has tried to swept under the rug but it was just a matter of time. Crime does not pay.

If you know people who go to Cherokee to gamble they can tell you who stole the money, who escorted her to Cherokee and who is behind the coverup. This goes straight to Lamar's office.

Would the cover-up man be Lamar`s good buddy in crime and have an office at Lamar`s end and next to the king`s throne ?

That it, ridicule, make fun of, throw everyone off the subject or do anything to make people think the thread is about something else. The real problem is and everyone knows it, is that if you are on good terms with the power you donít get treated the same as everyone else. Itís called politics. I should restate that,ďdirty politics.Ē

Examples: your land is evaluated lower, the result you pay less taxes. you can get tickets fixed, your kids are treated better in school. Etc. etc. etc.

As Lamar says,ďThatís the way itís always been doneĒ

Just like the sole Commissioner idea, Union County has been left behind the rest of the US and never will catch up until all of its citizens are treated the same and fairly.

I think Lindaís idea of questioning a possible theft at the golf course has that principle in mind. Why should one thief serve time in jail, even though the money was paid back, while another steals taxpayer money gambles it away gets caught and pays it back never suffers the public scorn, or even goes to trial? What is the difference? The rumor is, that Lamarís second, in command was her gambling partner and that would not look good for Lamar.

My concern is that if this did happen, who is the one who stopped any investigation? Was it Lamar never reporting the incident to our DA, playing Judge and jury again? Or was it reported to the DA and he made that decision. It doesnít sound like a equal justice to me.
