I just ran across this blog, Rangely Times Blog. I have heard more and more troubling things coming from that Hospital with each and every passing month and it appears someone gave everyone a chance to voice their concerns. They have already had a board member resign and two more are up for re-election. I think things are getting to get nasty down there and there should be a lot more information coming out. As a long time member of this community, I can tell you I am truly worried. We can't afford for that administrator or the board to run that hospital into the ground.

I agree John. I hope that we can all get together in hopes of getting that hospital on the right track. Hell if they continue to flush out all the good people what are we left with. We need to get everyone active and make a change. A change for the better of our community! Get rid of those lying crooks once and for all!

There is so much corruption going on that I am surprised that hospital still has its doors open. Not only does the care suck but now they got some wet behind the ear doc that orders a butt load of unnecessary tests to generate money for the hospital. Some insurance company or even some of the state agencies like medicare and medicaid is going to figure this out and by then it will be too late for that community. Someone needs to act quickly or you might as well flush it all down the toilet.

I am so sick of the layman who knows nothing about what is going on tossing there hands in the air screaming the sky is falling...what is wrong with you people. The hospital is doing fine. Last year the finances were record high, you dont believe me look at the books, come to the board meetings. Nobody comes and yet everyone is soooo concerned. Quit being uneducated chicken littles and learn the truth!!!! It is easy to gossip and have fits. Learn the truth!!! go to the source. Stop running off the board with your childish behaviors and get real. Honestly you have ran off your town manager. You ran off your superintendent of the schools. Who is good enough for you...Maby the whole town should just move away. I am sure there are enough bitter and ugly people to keep the blog around even if there isnt a town here. I can say this because I lived there long enough to see the hateful and evil ways, that people there used so they can get there way. It is much more intresting to listen to the lies then the truth. Go ahead keep driving off the good people with your freak outs people will only put up with it for so long. Then you can enjoy exactly what you deserve.

I agree "get over it" I worked in the hospital and know for a fact the care doesn't "suck" there are a lot of dedicated, caring, intelligent individuals that have saved man lives, if you are so concerned attend the meetings and voice your opinions, but don't group the whole political arena of issues on the actually working staff at the hospital. I agree there needs to be a change in some administration, but look what they have to deal with aswell. I know from living there that if someone does something others don't agree with, their out, people are rude, they are snubbed and many people become hateful. Get over it.

I have lived in Rangely for 3 years and am surprised at how many people live to bash the hospital and how it seems its the only thing in their lives they have to live for. I have lived in many small towns and have never seen people so interested in what is going on at the hospital, am I missing something? Maybe if we could shift some of the interest from the hospital to the real problems that do exist in Rangely we would have a thriving town. We only have two places to eat that are open regular hours and that's if Subway doesn't run out of bread. You can not buy a piece of clothing here, go to a movie, bowl, skate and so on. What are our city fathers doing to help our town grow? Who are our city fathers? Lets quit worrying about the hospital for a while and get busy on things that will keep our small little town alive. With out any growth in our town the hospital will be a moot point anyway. All the money in Rangely goes to Vernal or GJ isn't there something that can be done to keep it here?

All of the above negative talk is really troubling. Rangely could be a great town if people were not jealous of someone doing better than they are. Rangely has many great amenities for a town its size. I agree, focus on keeping dollars in town and stop criticizing everyone and everything. BE Positive.

Last post was February 2011. This post is from someone who has lived in Rangely for quite a while, has had the opportunity or misfortune to be treated at the 'hospital' and has tried to survive in Rangely. It has been a failing endeavor for my wife and I, the merchants are overcharging for everything, from fuel to groceries, and they laugh at you if you question them, the Hardware Store Owner would be in jail if he didn't have a business license, White River Market is just plain unbelieveable, in the poor quality of the produce and meat he tries to push off on his customers. And then there's the hospital, any procedure available there is 4 to 8 time higher than in Vernal or Grand Junction and you have a greater chance of walking away with MRSA or some other dread gombu than you came in with. I know I've been through it. The city can't control what the merchants do. Meth cooking is rampant in the outlying areas, oh sure we caught a few, but not the real problems. Best advice for anybody thinking of moving to Rangely...don't live in Vernal and commute. You'll be further ahead in the long run and you won't have to deal with the trash that the town calls 'local merchants'.
