I don't blame for trying to appeal the sentence. 30 years is excessive. I think that when the accident happened, the judge and others were trying to set an example and came up with "Terry's Law". As such, 30 years would be the sentence for anyone in the future who committed the same crime. In the past 11 years however, no one else has received a sentence that comes close to 30 years. It seemed then that there was a political agenda and it still does. Really, if Bozinelis granted him a new trial now, wouldn't that make him look suspect?

I have know Michael for more than 25 year and he is not the monster you might think.
Yes he deserves to be punished but the punishment should be fair and served without prejudice to everyone.
There has not been one person sentenced to even a fraction of the sentence Michael received.
Anyone who has ever drank too much and Thanked God the next day that they made it home ok should ask themselves if the sentance is fair, any parent with a new teen driver who makes a bad choice should ask themsleves if they are prepared to see their child sit in Jail for 15 to 30 year.
Its not whether Michael deserved to go to jail its more whether or not he is really paying his debt to society. I would think that his story told to new drivers, teens and at AA meetings would be a better way to repay society
Just recently a Mother of a 3 year old drank 10 cocktails with her sister , put her 3 year old in the back seat of her car and proceeded to drive home,. She killed a mother of 3 and she only received 6 years.
Is this fair ?? I guess she had a better lawyer.
Michael was so destaught and medically in a fog that he never even tried to defend himself.
Michael has served more time than rapist and murders....
He made a terrible mistake that he will have to live with for the rest of his life.
I lost my mother when I was very young and I know I would want some copability but I have also come to realize that compassion is the key to healing.
Has anyone ever asked what the Wright children feel given all the "real" facts
Nothing will ever bring back their mother back but a legacy that honors her memory would be more comforting than a procecuters revenge.

Revenge? Wow.. don't think the prosecutor was seeking revenge when he prosecuted a guy who killed a mother of 3 because he felt sorry for himself and decided to be selfish and destroy a family. Being drunk and doing 80 on Route 10 at that intersection is the same as firing a bullet in a crowed city street...and just because other sentences around the country are exceedingly light does not make his less just... 15 years is not enough as far as I am concerned. Let's hope he does something productive with his life now that he is out.
