Bowie council rejects housing plan for Hilltop Plaza lot

Plans to possibly build housing units on the nearly vacant north parking lot at Hilltop Plaza shopping center in Bowie again ran into resistance from some city councilmembers concerned about the effect on the neighboring Belair Town II townhouses, The Gazette reports.

There are a million foreclosures in Bowie. Why not sell them before we build any new housing?

Thank God they didn't vote to alter the zoning laws and allow this housing - those laws are there for a very good reason and only the Developer benefits when there are changes of this sort. Endless development does not benefit Bowie.
