Mr. Gill,
In regards to St Martin's campaign finance disclosure specifically the contribution he received from Australia, doesn't that violate the United States Code volume 2 section 441(e)? If you are not familiar with it reads:

2 U.S.C.§ 441e : US Code - Section 441E: Contributions and donations by foreign nationals
(a) Prohibition
It shall be unlawful for -
(1) a foreign national, directly or indirectly, to make -
(A) a contribution or donation of money or other thing of
value, or to make an express or implied promise to make a
contribution or donation, in connection with a Federal, State,
or local election;
(B) a contribution or donation to a committee of a political
party; or
(C) an expenditure, independent expenditure, or disbursement
for an electioneering communication (within the meaning of
section 434(f)(3) of this title); or
(2) a person to solicit, accept, or receive a contribution or
donation described in subparagraph (A) or (B) of paragraph (1)
from a foreign national.
(b) "Foreign national" defined
As used in this section, the term "foreign national" means -
(1) a foreign principal, as such term is defined by section
611(b) of title 22, except that the term "foreign national" shall
not include any individual who is a citizen of the United States;
or
(2) an individual who is not a citizen of the United States or
a national of the United States (as defined in section
1101(a)(22) of title 8) and who is not lawfully admitted for
permanent residence, as defined by section 1101(a)(20) of title
8.
I would like to know your thoughts on it.

Of course Jim Love will say "I think they've done an excellent job.....Beaumont is one of the best-managed and well-run cities in the state." He is the owner of Beaumont Electric, another contractor for the City of Beaumont. Beaumont Electric is paid thousands of dollars a month from the city. He wants to keep it status quo. In June 2010 his company was paid over $131,000 dollars. In August his company was paid over $46,000 dollars. Consider where the quotes come from people. Beaumont is BAD!

As a former employee of Beaumont elect ( Jim Love )I can tell you he is a crook and in bed with the City of Beaumont. He raises thousands of dollars to give to certain Crooks that are still in office and in turn they kick his company down all the work. Look at his home on top of the hill south of 1st st it must of cost him millions. Also look at the signs in front of his business on 4th st all for incombents he has a lot at stake a will do anything to help them keep the current jobs at city hall in this bad economy keeps him out of the bread line

While this article is quite comprehensive. It failed to mention a few things:

1. Brian de Forge works for Bogh Construction. Bogh construction relatives run the action group "Pass Area Families for Bad Government" This action group donated to the 3 incumbents' campaigns.

2. Pass Area Families for Bad Government also paid for their mailers, directly. So this money is not reported in the incumbents 460's. Each mailer to the entire wak list (list with all of the registered voters information) is about 3+k (13k registered voters at $0.44 a stamp, or $0.28 for a postcard, like De Forge's... do the math). Plus similar mailers went out for the incumbents at the school district and parks... A lot of money!

3. After crunching numbers, most of the donations to the action group "Pass Area Families for Bad Government" comes from builders, real estate developers and construction companies. They claim that "many" donations came from residents and under $100 so that they don't need to be reported. This is not ture, the number don't add up.

4. Urban Logic donated to Pass Area Families for Bad Government, which in turns donated to the 3 incumbents. A clear conflic of interest.

5. Riverside clerk aknowledges that there was one donation for $60,000, however they "cannot locate the records" as to who made that donation... A request to the State secretary has been made and the information will be available soon.

If you ad the money that Pass Area Families for Bad Government paid for their puppets, Victor's contributions would look like chump change... I agree, donate to a good cause, not to retain the same corrupted officials. We must take our city back!

Public requests show that Mr. Love had invoiced prior to it going to bid. Then somehow the public works dept found Beaumont Electric to always be low bid. Imagine that.

Any candidate supported by PASS AREA FAMILIES FOR GOOD GOVERNMENT usually denotes the opposite and you will be getting BAD GOVERNMENT. Run as fast and as far away from their candidates as you can. They are bought and paid for. It is time to break the grip of their power and stand up for fair bidding practices. Bogh and Love are two of the most corrupt. How did Jim Love sit as Chairman of the Planning Commission for years and violate the law by voting in the very developments that he knew he had blanket contracts to profit---electrical work, street lights and inspections, to the exclusion of any other electrical contractors in town. Beaumont Electric never did competitive bidding - it was handed to him on a silver platter.

Of course Russ Bogh's best friend Pacheco, former DA, protected them from investigation.

That was then- this is now.

"I will never be a puppet for anybody," Castaldo said. << Have you seen this guy conduct himself in front of the City Council at public hearings? He's basically saying that he is one already and without even getting anything in return from the fix they all are involved with... Now, that's low

Please tell me if you see the same pattern that this election has displayed for me. Follow along:

I have received, thus far, 8 pieces of political junk mail from an organization called Pass Area Families for Good Government. All of them "advising" me as to who to vote for. All for the incumbents. In 2008 I received only 2 or 3 (can't remember exactly). They have also advertised extensively this time in the newspapers.

As of 9/30/10 they had a cash balance of $27,251.78 in a Wells Fargo account. Pass Area Families for good Government is located at 877 W. 4th St Suite A, Beaumont Ca. 92223. This is a PO Box number, not an office and not a representative there to talk to.

Their principals, as of California form 410, are:

Stacey Love, President. She is the wife of Jim Love, owners of Beaumont Electric. The company that has been awarded the vast majority of city contracts. They install street lights (among others) and act as the City's electrical inspector... That itself sounds like bad government.

Lynn Bogh Baldi, Officer. Mother of Russ Bogh, from Bogh Construction, also the Vice President of the Beaumont Chamber of Commerce. Bogh construction has been awarded the vast majority of school development contracts (if not all), including the new stadium and the first phase of San Jacinto College Campus.

Still with me here? Ok. moving on...

Pass Families group has received donations from:
- LSA Associates, Inc, Irvine Ca.
- Pardee Homes, Los Angels Ca.
- Urban Logic Consultants, Inc Temecula Ca.(the contractors for the city of Beaumont)
- FJH Development, Garden Grove, Ca. and the list goes on and on....

However, there are no records of any "family or individual" donating to the group. They claim that these donations are made under $99 so they don't need to be reported by law.

So ok, my question is whom are these families donating? In the past 6 years living in Beaumont I have never been invited to a meeting or gathering of any sort. They have never introduced themselves to me nor asked for a donation.

All incumbents, De Forge, Berg and St. Martin have received donations from this so-called "family group", which in turn has received donations from Urban Logic Consultants. These 3 incumbents claim that there's no conflict of interest. Brian De Forge also works for Bogh Construction. These 3 have also received donations form Pardee Homes and other developers that have also donated to pass families.

Back to the mailers... A walk-list (directory of all registered voters) for the city of Beaumont has about 15,000 records. If you average a cost of a stamp to $0.36 (as half are letters and half post cards) and multiply this by 15,000, then multiply this again by 8 mailers, this is a total of $43,200. To this you add the cost of the actual mailer, the manpower to label, stuff and stamp each one. You are talking a hefty buck here.

Now, the questions I ask myself after all this information are:

1. Which group of families would spend this ridiculous amount of money on a political campaign trying to retain the same people, and why?

2. Which family group would go unnoticed and without making any type of fundraiser in order to raise this vast amount of money?

3. Why would anyone go that far to re-elect incumbents?

4. Who in the right mind cannot see the truth for what it really is?

Btw. The riverside clerk acknowledges that this group also received a donation in the amount of $60,000. But somehow cannot locate the records. How interesting.

I'm not sure about you, but I am not voting for any of these incumbents. Pass Area Families for Good Government DOES NOT speak for MY family!

Ah if only elections and comments could be subject to fact-checking. The donor happens to live, legally, here in Beaumont. As an Australian he appreciates that individuals should be involved in elections, get to know the candidates and support candidates worthy of being elected. Do your homework before making unfounded innuedo's!!!!

Then yell at the reporter- Jesse Gill. Note to Beaumont about the election- before the incumbents and the construction families all rejoice- the facts are----Beaumont has now almost 34,000 residents, yet the highest vote support for Deforge was 3,022, Berg only 2229, and St. Martin 2093. That means that over 30,000 people do not care enough for the town of Beaumont to even vote on its issues. Stop with the ridiculous small town claim! And the two dissident runners recieved roughly half the votes of the incumbents- meaning that half the percentage of voters who DO care about Beaumont enough to vote do not like the direction it is going in. If I were these incumbents, I would care about these facts, for it won't be much longer before these 30,000 new people start settling in and paying attention. Free concerts are not going to mask much longer the constant addition of rate increases for services, and increases in property taxes to support the current councils plan to develop, develop, develop. If you are on a council- commission, or planning board- and your vote brings in any development, and in any part of the trickle down process that happens from it you somehow make money from it- then stop claiming you are doing it for the good of Beaumont. If you subtract out the votes of all the construction family's members, friends, and employees- how many people not getting a piece of the development action really think you are doing a good job of anything?

If you think you are so intelligent... why don't you run? The majority of people in Beaumont are sick and tired of listening to the same old tired, unfounded claim of malfeasance in the City of Beaumont. You can believe whatever you want to believe, but I haven't seen your "smoking gun" and I certainly don't think that a City is automatically guilty of wrong-doing just because they are fiscally solvent! Look at our State! That is what is wrong with the way you people think... You vote in liberal spend junkies and then wonder why fees are hiked up...Also, in case you haven't been paying attention Beaumont has been LOWERING FEES for the past year and continuing to offer more FREE services to residents! Just because you don't take the time to find the truth and believe everything these people feed you, doesn't mean you actually have your finger on the pulse of this community. I am a LIFELONG RESIDENT who knows what people here care about, and it isn't all of your dirty politics and libelous websites.
