I'm sorry for your loss. I just don't understand (and I am saying this with respect) how life can be so bad at only 20 yrs old? It's just beyond my imagination how someone can take their own life and leave so much grief behind for all that loved him. It's so sad.

How much damage done to the cars? Does Insurance cover that?

He hit my husband's car and totaled it. It was a traumatizing event for all involved. Luckily my husband survived.

It was nice to read the comments from this young man's friends. I hope you find solace and healing in the days to come.

very sad for all involved. How awful for your husband to have to be the one who hit him that would scar you for life. There have been several jumpers off of that bridge. When is the city going to wise up an put the covers over those bridges to prevent this from happening?

I hit a dog once on I-10 near Vineyard, didn't total the car but it took weeks to completely hose everything out of the grill and things. Feel bad for your husband.

Dont post comments unless you can show some sort of compassion. For anyone to get to that point is a horrible thing. Without God there is no hope. But with him there is everlasting life. Please choose your words carefully as his family may read this.
Thank you for your advice...The young man's name was Kyle and he is my only nephew. I was beginning to wonder if anyone cared or if suicide today was a subject to joke about. Since you mentioned Christiananity, if you'd say a prayer for the rest of the family, I'd appreciate it.

I was wondering if you or ugh (or anyone else who knew Kyle), might allow me to email them with some questions. I am his Aunt and some questions about his last few years.

Please have some respect. Kyle was my cousin. I remember growing up and taking trips out to Victorville to hang out with him. He was a great guy and will be missed. I love you man

I think it's pretty sad that people are making a joke out of this.My cousins were very good friends of Kyle's and I met him a couple times and he was the coolest guy.People should have some respect for his family who obviously doesn't find what negative things people are saying is funny.People are always going to be ignorant but I don't understand why they feel they have to show how ignorant they are.No one will ever know what Kyle was thinking and why he did what he did.It kinda pisses me off that people can sit there and say,"life isn't that tough".Who are you to say how life is?People are different and just because you can get through things some people just have a harder time.RIP Kyle, you were great =)

I was on the freeway driving home from Las Vegas when all of a sudden traffic stopped. I drove off the shoulder into the gas station to rest a bit and fill up. That's when I heard what had happened to make the traffic stop.

I recently lost a friend to suicide and hearing that another young person took his life really impacted me. I'm sorry to Kyle's family for their tremendous loss. I will pray for you, that you may find understanding and peace.

As to those of you who have commented in a joking manner or a disrespectful way about the event: it is people like you, who do not value life or the loss of it that are the root of such evils from happening. It is you who do not see the importance of life. A life was lost, it could've been due to an illness such as depression, heartache, or another reason that you will never understand. Just hope that when you are in a time of dispair that people are more compassionate towards you.

I can't stop thinking about poor Kyle. I hope that his soul is at peace. That his pain is gone. That God and the angels can heal keep him close and heal him of his worldly troubles.

To those of you who have directly or indirectly been affected by these events... smile at everyone you meet. You never know if you could change a person's day. You could be the reason a sad person finds a reason to be happy. Pay happiness forward.. You could save a life.

Raymond,

I'm sorry for your loss. I hope that you can find solace in God. As for his soul, God does have mercy on the soul of those who take their own lives. He arms us with the tools necessary to get through the tough times in life. Your friend was not in his perfect capacity. Please don't fault yourself, you are lucky to have known him. Pray for him and find strength in this.

I wish you peace and serenity.

Sofi-your words of encouragement really touched me and I thank you for taking the time to write them down. In my forty some years of life, I have lost a cousin and now Kyle, my nephew, to suicide. I lost another cousin in a car accident, a cousin & a daughter to medical reasons and am facing my dad's death right now, as he is in the final stage of cancer. I believe, like you do, that God will see us through everything that happens in our lives, if we just ask Him to. Thank you again for your words of kindnss and encouragement. I will always remember to smile at people, as I pass them by...you never know what that might do for a person who is depressed or hurting.

Suicide is for the WEAK!!! I don't care how bad life is no one should resort to jumping off a bridge. I have been driving down bear valley everyday seeing kids doing car washes for what? Some kid who felt jumping off a bridge was easier then coping with life? What statement was he trying to make? Let me tell you I have lived one of the hardest lives any kid could live and still do. Being 27 years old I have never resorted to jumping off a brige to end my problems or even commiting suicide for that matter. I personally Don't feel sorry for him nor should anyone else. All this guy did was endanger other peoples lives and cause a 6 hour traffic jam for his stupidity. Suicide is a sin obviously people don't think about that the second they want to jump off a bridge.
EVERYONE IS ENTITLED TO THEIR OWN OPINION.
Let me tell you if he jumped off that bridge and landed on my wifes car with my newborn baby in it I would have been one pissed son of a bitch. Moral of the story another person leaves this world thinking of them selfs!!
