I think this happened around 8:30PM and not the 5:30PM that the story is saying. I drove by around that time and I saw one of the cars on its side. We lose too many to auto accidents and these were only kids. Let us all be mindful when we get into our cars and remember that we are all people driving out there. I pray for the families of Joshua and Vincent. May they rest in peace.

The article doesnt make sense. If the Jeep was turning left from 6th to Haven and the Pick up was heading West on 6th they were going the same way. So did the Jeep turn left from the right lane?

I whitnessed the incident, the jeep made a left turn from 6th onto haven heading tword the 210. Unfortunately the driver didn't use his best judgement, the driver of the jeep went into the straight lane to go around a older corolla that had stopped in the turning lane due to yellow light and when the jeep had made it around the corolla it turned to cut across the intersection and in front of the unsuspecting driver of the ranger. The jeep cut infront of the ranger trying to make an illeagle left turn from a straight lane. The driver of the ranger was in no way responsible for the accident and did no wrong. The jeep made an illeagle left turn infront of the ranger, like any other driver assuming someone in a straight lane would go straight and someone in a turning lane would turn. My prayers go out to the friends and family of the two boys and my best wishes to the driver of the ranger.

Lack of patience claimed two more young lives yesterday.

They were leaving school fifteen minutes early, too. Guess it wasn't early enough.

Dear Witness,
I am a long time friend of one of the victims that died in that crash. And why do you care so much about the guy in the ranger??? 2 innocent 18 year olds are dead, and my friend is now gone forever, due to that stupid idiot in the ranger. He in the ranger did not die, so dont care about him and his family. You should have a heart and worry about the mothers of the 2 boys who now have to bury their children. So take a minute gather your thoughts and get smart. That's it.

My daughter & I saw everthing and I can't begin to tell you how sorry I am. My prayers and deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of Joshua & Vincent. Please don't forget Gods unchanging word during this time. The bible says "Be of courage, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. 1Jhn3:16 says "God loves us so much he gave us his son & whoever believe in him will not perish but have EVERLASTING LIFE". May the angels of Heaven Welcome In Joshua & Vincent.

Crash leaves 2 dead, 1 injured

RANCHO CUCAMONGA - A traffic collision involving a Jeep Wrangler and a Ford Ranger at an intersection Monday afternoon resulted in the deaths of two 18-year-old men.

Joshua Burlingame of Norco and passenger Vincent Villariasa of Rancho Cucamonga were pronounced dead at Haven Avenue and Sixth Street, according to a San Bernardino County sheriff-coroner news release.

William Fowlks was driving a 1991 black Ford Ranger pickup west on Sixth Street when Burlingame, traveling eastbound, attempted to make an unprotected left turn onto Haven, according to the sheriff's release.

According to the news release, Fowlks entered the intersection, and was unable to stop after Burlingame turned into his path.

Sgt. Chris Allen of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department Rancho Cucamonga station said the crash, which occurred around 5 p.m., is under investigation, but initially it appears the Jeep did not yield for the truck as it attempted to make the turn.

Allen said they determined that the Ford was traveling about 45 mph, and the Jeep was moving slower than 5 mph and was following another car that made a left turn.

The truck rolled as a result of the crash, trapping Fowlks inside until deputies broke the windshield enabling him to exit the vehicle.

Officials said damage to the Jeep prevented Burlingame and Villariasa from being extricated.

Officials from the fire department and American Medical Response arrived and gave medical aid to all three victims. Burlingame and Villariasa were pronounced dead about 5:30 p.m., according to the Coroner.

Fowlks suffered minor bruises and cuts, and was released at the scene.

Allen said there was no indication of drugs or alcohol being a factor and everyone was wearing their seatbelts.

HONESTLY, I AM NOT HERE TO POINT FINGERS. I AM A DEAR CLOSE FRIEND TO ONE OF THESE TEENS THAT HAD PASSED AWAY LAST NIGHT. THEIR SOULS ARE AT REST NOW AND ALL WE ASK IS FOR EVERYONE TO CONTINUE THEIR PRAYERS FOR THEM AND THEIR FAMILIES. THANK YOU.

Dear I AM A FRIEND

I too was a friend of Josh and Vince while attending afternoon classes brfor changing to nights, and i also am a friend of Will, the one driving the ranger. I WAS ALSO SITTING AT THE FRONT CORNER OF HAVEN AND 6TH and was one of the first people at the crash. I ran to the jeep to check their pulses and also to the ranger to see how he was doing. So dont give me an attitude about favoring the ranger, I WATCHED Vince die in that passenger seat, and its something that i will never forget and if you have a problem with what i am saying i will be more than happy to meet you at school to speak in person. All i said was the ranger was not at fault-

"Sgt. Chris Allen of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department Rancho Cucamonga station said the crash, which occurred around 5 p.m., is under investigation, but initially it appears the Jeep did not yield for the truck as it attempted to make the turn."

-It was a misteak on Josh's part trying to make the turn befor making any attempt to make sure the intersection was clear, and if you know them as you say you do you also know josh's driving habbits. But the bottom line is that they are no longer with us and you made 1 statement that has some intellegence to it, the mothers do have to burry their son's and its a shame that it has to be that way. But you need to get your facts straight and shut your mouth. And like i said i would be more than happy to meet you in person to speak if you'd like.

Dear witness,
I do not know Josh, i know vincents and i know his brother johnathen. and i have known him since childhood, we met when we were really young. i dont mean to give you attitude but this has shaken our family. my family is bestfriends with vincent's mother and its been really hard. i do not go to that school down there. Its hard to get the facts straight since everyone is telling me diferent things, i hate knowing that i am going to his funeral and he is so young, and becuase of a qucik mistake. but it seems as if the other guy was speeding, but i dont know what really happened cause im hearing so many different verisions. even the witnesses have different verisions. i just wanna know the truth and what relly happened to my long time friend.its sad that you got so hostile over this, i admit i was wrong for saying some of the things that i sad but u must understand that my friend just died. we were waiting for the call from his mom and it was one of the most devestating of my life. i didnt mean to take out my anger on u but u said something that pissed me off and i unleashed it on you. so i will admit i was wrong, and i am sorry. but i still feel the same way.

Joshua is a close family friend. My heart breaks for his family and his friends who have lost such a wonderful person. Jessica and Miah,(his elder sister and younger brother) especially are in my thoughts.

I just came home from the funeral home with my sister, Josh's mother, where we were making arrangements to say goodbye to our beloved Joshua. Josh's parents as I'm sure Vincent's parents are in alot of pain right now. And could you imagine how difficult it must be for William who has to live with this for the rest of his life. Please, everyone, if you could all just dedicate your time to praying for the families of all the boys involved, I know it would be helpful to them. Our time would be much better spent with a more positive and caring focus towards all involved in this terrible accident.

The loss of our beautiful Vincent is a blow that bewilders us and leaves us reeling. But wee feel no anger. The driver of the other vehicle deserves our sympathy and kindness as much as we deserve anyone else's. He'll be haunted by that moment forever, regardless of who is at fault. He will wonder if there were anything he might have done differently that would have changed it. He will wake in horror. He will see the scene over and over. Vincent is with the Lord in paradise. We will be with him again.
