Rancho Cucamonga Fire Fighting Test...Rigged?

So, I am noticing something rather strange.

I happen to be friends with several fire fighting hopefuls,
and after they heard about openings in the Rancho Cucamonga
Fire Department, they studied their butts off and took the
written test.

A few weeks later, the first friend told me he got a letter
in the mail, explaining that he got a low score of 44 and that
they wouldn't be able to consider/accept anyone below 59.

This was understandable, I initially thought, considering the
tough odds of getting into any Fire Department, much less
Rancho Cucamonga's. Then my second friend called me.

He said he ALSO recieved the same score of 44, and the same letter
that was sent to our other friend.

Then my third friend revealed his score. A 44. And through the
grapevine, I discovered that TWO more people had received the SAME
exact score, the same letter.

Is something fishy going on here? Or did it just so happen
that five different people, with five different I.Q.'s, and
five different proficiencies of fire fighting, just "coincidentally" got the same exact score?

Personally, it sounds rigged. Maybe they just made up
some lame excuse to exclude and delete a few heads from
the numerous that applied. Maybe someone is playing favorites.

I am usually not someone to quickly jump to conclusions,
but c'mon,
this is just too sketchy.

But I am open to hear thoughts and opinions.

What do you think?

As a fellow test taker I can tell you that tests are not rigged. I'm sorry that it didn't turn out favorable for your friends. Hopefully this process doesn't put a bad taste in their mouth for the fire service. There are plenty of agencies out there and the only way to get hired to keep taking the tests.

The fire service prides itself on honor and integrity. The Rancho Cucamonga Fire District or any other fire department for that matter would never jeopardize their integrity or values by "playing favorites".

That's my 2 cents.
