It's funny that both of these people are hispanics. After spending some time in Mexico when I was younger and dealing with the PD in Baja, it makes me wonder if their upbringing makes them think that bribing is the norm.

Apparently it's not.

Deputy Steven Cline is basically setting up drunk people. To say cops don't take bribes is to say the pope is not catholic. Cline will make a great Sargent, or Detective.. cause that's where the real bribes go down. In the Jewnited States, street level cops rarly take cash.. but thier boss will. Its the same on both side of the border, don't get it twisted.

Now dont start with the race bull****,remember in Chino Hills a motorcross racer(a nobody) was arrested for the same thing after a DUI arrest,a white guy named Jered Peter Thomas, just search for the article if you dont believe me.

the cop could have just told them to shut the hell up and took them to jail, there drunk, and drunks talk BS. You know why he's the only one making bust like this ? because every other cop tells the drunks to shut up ... did this guy really save the world by adding more charges to a few drucks

Your right this was a case of six pack talk, thats what drunks do they B.S. I say that this Cline guy ought to stick with the DUI's and stop wasting tax payer money on a case that will be kicked in court anyway. The guy thinks he is probably somekind of hero.

Good for him. He's just getting enough evidence that the courts won't throw this charge out. If you're a cop for long enough you learn how the courts work and how they don't work.

Under what legal basis does this deputy transport arrestees around the city to further this bogus charge? Is he "unarrested" just long enough to take money out of the ATM? What if they get into a crash while on this adventure?
I'm sure the rest of the guys at the station think this guy is a clown for pulling stunts like this. Probably one of these gung-ho traffic cops who is afraid of doing real police work.

TOO MANY MEXICAN ALIENS
Por Juan Moretime

(This poem was inspired and sung to the tune of "Monkies Jumping On The Bed")

Too many Mexicans
crossing our borders,
illegal aliens
disturbing law and order.

Momma called La Migra
and La Migra man said,
"can't do nothing lady,
so just turn your head"

Momma said "you crazy,
cuz our countries turning into crap,
Mexican aliens are all over the map."
"Theyre in our schools,
our prisons and jails,
costing us BILLION each year
now our system has failed."

La Migra man says "we cant
do anything now,
cuz if we did
Mexicans would have a cow.

Americans too weak
too weak to speak,
so they shut right up
and listen to the garbage that
govt feeds em.

They'll easily get off on ENTRAPMENT defenses.

These people could not have actually gone through with the bribe without the cooperation of this "star" officer. He solicited the entire event.
Are we to believe the other officers on the force never get offered bribes?
We'll see who has the last laugh. This guy is a clown.

This traffic cop needs to realize he's not a detective yet. I smell fish.l

One day this little entrapment technique is going to backfire, and someone might get hurt.
You don't take restraints off of anyone whom you've detained until they're halfway through booking. Rancho is not commenting because they don't know what to say. This is not a coincidence.

Once again, the lawyers will have a field day, and his attempted heroics will be all for naught.

I do wonder about uncuffing a drunk subject. The officer didnt entrap the person but I do wonder if the risk is worth the reward. I can see engaging in conversation abut the bribe but the uncuff is a little too much for me and I would never do it. But you can also see this is an officer who knows the court system and is making sure his case is strong so a cowardly prosecutor wont dismiss the charge
