I wonder how good the sales were before the festival became the steaming pile of crap it is now, pretending to be a music festival and not primarily a soulless assault on consumers' wallets. Once upon a time when you couldn't say that Coachella would sell us the Wiggles as headliners if they thought they could make money off of it, they raked in record crowds and profits every year. Once they started tweaking the festival's regulations and policies to squeeze even more money out of consumers did sales fall drastically. Now they're trying to tell us that 75000 people is a record crowd, which is a joke. They have exceeded that total by 25,000-50,000 a day in the past. It won't happen again because they're just another corporate suck-up festival that now has no interest in living up to it's self-created image as a Woodstock-type event.

I agree with the above comment. Golden Voice had the Golden Goose, and saw fit to gang rape that goose for a few more overpriced tickets and less hired security. GoldenVoice betrayed the loyal fans that built them. Never going back--after ten years, I am so sad to have to say it.

The days of Woodstock, Playboy Jazz, and festivals simply for the love of music are gone!
It's big bucks to gain a site, permits, security, let alone pay out the nose for quality acts there days. Even the price of attending a solo act concert is outrageous, let alone a festival. Sign of the times. I go to a few select events a year now, approx six. Draw the line at around $100. So,$250 a night for two if you throw in a few drinks, etc.
Between cost, crowds, heat (or cold), and basic low quality outdoor audio, I had to ask myself over and over, are we having fun yet? Festivals and large arenas offer lousy sound and experience for a concert and I think they have seen there day. I reserve my attendance for smaller to mid size venues. Some of the local casino's have some good concerts with bands coming or going from So. Calif or mid week between L.A. and San Diego. You might want to check it our if your disgruntled festival attender like myself.

The only shocker here is that a vendor expects a tip on a 5 dollar cup of coffee.
