She took another girls life. Took away a loved one from a family. Yet unless she is tried as an adult she will be back out on the streets before she is 22 years old. But more than likely since she's a "girl", the prosecutors will make a plea deal with her. She will get practically nothing.

Meaning the family of the girl that was killed will get practically nothing in justice. So much for our prosecutors protecting us.

Very true! Years ago I knew of a girl who stabbed another girl over 7 times. The victim fully recovered but the other went to Juvenal hall for two weeks got off with a slap on the hand.

Both sets of parents should be arrested for allowing their minor daughters to be at a party at 4 a.m. If they had been actually parenting their children one wouldn't be dead and the other wouldn't be behind bars.

You have no idea who these girl are or who there parents are. Kids do stupid crap these days, and the parents are more horrified than you or me!

Maybe they ran away from there home. Or maybe they said they were sleeping over at lil sallies house. Maybe you should teach everyone how to take care of our teenage kids. Or maybe the party was at lil sallies house. U don't know anything about these teenage kids so leave the parents alone believe me they're both pulling hair out.

Any parent who has a child who comes to them on a Saturday night, which happens to be a holiday, no less and says 'I'm spending the night at lil sallies house' should be met with the response of 'Ok, give me lil sallies parent's phone number and I'll make sure you get there and her parents are okay with you staying'.
I may not know anything about these particular girls, but them being out in the middle of the night at a party while they are underage and alone should be grounds for child neglect/endangerment. There is no excuse for them being out as late as they were, unless one or both parents were with them, which they weren't.

Dude, get it through your head, there were small children and all kinds of adults at this party. They weren't alone, there wasn't a bunch of kids hanging out without adult supervison. It was a family party. And some stupid a** girl had a knife on her. She is a coward and an idiot. Attack her and NO ONE else. She should be tried as an adult and put away!

the facts are not knows in this case. IF it is true (as someone wrote on this blog, which should be taken as a grain of salt) shame, accountability, callousness, and lack of respect for life is missing here. Kids squabbling about who knows what does not justify stabbing someone. Granted, we DO NOT have all the facts so we don't know if it was self defense. But I'm sure this suspect will show up in court w/her hair in pigtails; wearing a cute pink dress and claim she did not know her actions would result in taking someone's life. How sad our society has become.

I agree...if she went there w/a knife looking for trouble, she should be tried as an adult and tossed in a cage like an animal.

The law requires juvenile suspect's names be withheld (will probably be released if she is tried as an adult.) Victim's family can give permission to release victim's names...

And how do you know they weren't with their parents? In fact, how do you know both sets of parents weren't there?
"Investigators said about 15 to 20 people were at the party, which included children and some adults." Save your speech on morality until all the facts come out. For now, a 16 year old girl is dead. Let's focus on that tragedy and not start some witch hunt. Let the authorities handle the specifics and lets not judge until the facts come out.
