It was very nice of you to take the time to give recognition of a highly deserving family here in Alta Vista Mobile Park Community. I need to take issue with your use of the term "Trailer Park".
This place is as far as you can get from that designation. I'm sure that you don't realize that the label "Trailer Park" is not only old fashioned it is politically incorrect. And offensive to the people who live here. Thanks to the management and the owners we are allowed various amenities during the year. Such as an "After School Club" For tutoring and homework support. This is available 4 days a week in the school year and is supervised at all times by Credentialed Teachers either currently in the school system or retired teachers who were/are credentialed.
Several Fridays a year we have a supervised teen night with use of the swimming pool, a room designated for shooting pool, a large screen TV usually with age appropriate movies available, and we have the computer center for the use of the parents and the students who live here. I hope that you are beginning to see why we are indeed a "Community Park" not a "trailer Park".

Thanks very much

If its called Alta Vista Mobile park, then its the same as Trailer Park, Trailer and mobile mean the same thing, Why doesnt it bother you that the phrase Mobile Park is in the name of the place, but you are offened by by the term "trailer park"?

I love watching this show, there should be more like it on air! Tears of joy drop down my face when I see a deserving family get help with there form of living. I myself am living in a mobile home with my mother. My parents raised 5 boys in a 1978 2 bed mobile home. Now being the youngest of them all at age 22 I strive to repair and restore it on a VERY VERY tight budget. Maybe when I am 40 I can have it semi-good looking. I guess I am asking for help...wishing my mother and I can live in a desent place.seven seven five seven five two...twenty three forty-eight

Hi, my family loves your show, we always get warmed up and teary eyed to see a family so happy to see their mobile home renovated. The kids always wished if that can happen to us. We live in a mobile home in Lodi NJ...small and very runned down, but hey, we make the best of it, and our family of four and our cat is what makes up for it. Keep up the good work!

Is there any other programs like CMT's Mobile Home Disaster out there that can help families living outside of California. I understand completely that this is a wonderful thing that is being done for the communities in California but there are so many other deserving families in other states. Maybe this can be recognized and a traveling Mobile Home Make Over show can be developed (much like Extreme Home Makeover...the community is usually very willing to help) Thanks for listening and hopefully taking this into consideration......Thanks..... Lost in Pa. PS. If anyone knows of available assistance for a struggling family in Pennsylvania please send info to email address bav1972@aol.com

My husband and i were buying a doublewide manufactured home in a mobile home park, The previous owner of the park sold it. and the new owners were real jerks, the raised everyones lot rent frome 150.00 to 235.00 we live in a small town and not much work available. He then started to evict people from the park and said he was closing down the park, We didnt have anyway to move our place so we had to let it go back to the people we were buying it from, we bought a motorhome and sold all our furniture, and ended up with 3 storage units, We moved the mobilhome into another, mobilhome park, we lived in it foe 2 years, then i traded my truck for a 2 bedroom mobilhome, now the fun begins, it needs to be completly redone all new windows carpet, vinyl it even came with the two toilets full of crap.... i would like to know how to get a mobilhome makeover all the vents are full of mice turds and ect, i wake up in the mornings all stuffed up, the windows are all rotted and we cant afford to fix nothing, neither one of us are working, and affraid it wont get done my winter, any suggestions,,,jorena88@hotmail .com
