What's wrong with Prestige Toyota of Ramsey New Jersey? I called service department to make appointment three weeks in advance for an oil change and right off the bat the girl answering the phone was rude, almost like I was bothering her. I brought car in 8am the day of appointment (3 weeks later).I come back after work around 6:45pm and they tell me they never worked on my car. Jiffy lube can do an oil change in less then 30 minutes and prestige couldn't get to it it the ten hrs they had it. I searched the web and noticed people are starting to have problems with both sales and service at prestige Google the reviews on yelp and see Im not the only one having issues at prestige. I ended up taking my car to Hackensack Toyota for service.
IMO they are a low level dealership

RAMSEY TOYOTA SOLD A TOYOTA SEQUOIA WITH OPTIONS TO ME.
I ASKED FOR THE WINDOW STICKER THREE TIMES BUT WAS NOT GIVEN IT. I BECAME SUSPICIOUS.
THE FOLLOWING DAY I RETURNED TO PAY FOR THE VEHICLE AND ASKED TO VERIFY THE WHEEL SIZE AND OTHER FEATURES ON THE WINDOW STICKER, I FOUND OUT THAT THE TOW BAR, FOOT BOARD ETC. WERE NO LONGER AVAILABLE AND THE WINDOW STICKER WAS AMENDED TO REFLECT THE SAME.
THE SALES MAN OFFERED TO GIVE ME A COPY OF THE WINDOW STICKER, BUT WANTED TO AMEND IT IN MY PRESENCE, I REFUSED TO ALLOW THIS. THE MANAGER STEVEN REEDY BLUNTLY REFUSED TO PROVIDE THE STICKER, REMARKING THAT I DID NOT BUY THE CAR YET.
NOT TO MENTION THE ALLOY WHEELS SOLD AS AN OPTION WERE SUBSTANDARD, AND NOT THE SAME AS STANDARD ALLOY WHEELS DESIGNATED FOR 2004 TOYOTA SEQUOIA.
UPON TEST DRIVING THE VEHICLE THE SALESMAN TOLD ME THE WHEELS ARE SIZE 17, THEY LATER INSTALLED A SUBSTANDARD ALLOY WHEEL, WITH SIZE 16 RIMS. AND WANTED ME TO BUY ANOTHER SET OF WHEELS FOR $2600.00
I REFUSED TO PURCHASE THE VEHICLE, AND LEFT, THEY ADMITTED THEY TRIMMED THE VEHICLE TO MATCH THE PRICE I NEGOTIATED.
I LATER FOUND OUT FROM ANOTHER TOYOTA DEALER THAT THEY (RAMSEY TOYOTA) ADVERTISE A LOW SALE PRICE AND REMOVED SEVERAL FEATURES FROM THE VEHICLE.
THEN THEY (RAMSEY TOYOTA) SELL THESE FEATURES AS OPTIONS TO MAXIMIZE PROFITS.

The dealer promised us a car with everything we said we wanted by the end of the month. They said if we put a $500 deposit on that car it would be held for us. At the end of the month the car had NOT arrived and they had no idea when or IF it would ever arrive. Dealer said they had another car with all the same features we had ordered but in a different color. We agreed to take it and gave them our Clunker. Two key features were missing and they said Toyota Service would install what we had requested for the price we had previously agreed upon.
Now that we have the wrong new car and our clunker is gone they tell us the features we want cannot be added on for that price once the car leaves the factory! They gave us an inferior replacement part for one item and tell us the price for the other item is TWICE as much as we had been told. Oh and if we want to return the car to them then we have to pay them the $4500 that was supposed to come from the Clunkers program and we cannot get our Clunker back. So many lies in just 3 weeks! Do NOT buy from this dealer!

I had the displeasure of visiting Prestige Toyota of Ramsey, NJ yesterday with the family. We were looking at the Rav4 since it has an extra row (making it possible for us Soccer Moms/Dads to take a few extras when we go to events for the kids. However, the sales guy Harry was really, really annoying. After insisting on taking the car out of the dealer lot before allowing one of us to drive (ok, I get it, dont hit any other cars) he drove us straight to their repair facility down route 17 to show it off. We promptly got stuck behind someone dropping off or picking up a car and had to sit there for 5 minutes. He had that annoying sales-guy way of using sales tools like Well, let me answer your question with a question. Ok, I get it. Youre trying to sell me a car. But it gets really annoying after a while. And it took a while. More than 2 hours before we were done with our dealer discussion and test drive, and frankly I wasnt in a mood to negotiate at that point. However, he thought my desire not to negotiate was a negotiation. Which I kept stating it was not. However, they had done a cleaver thing (from a dealer point of view). They offered to appraise my trade in (never do this, I found out, until after you have a price for your car. Thanks Brian). Therefore they had my keys when we wanted to leave. Even asking for my keys back became a negotiation until I walked past the receptionist (who promptly freaked out YOU CANT GO IN THERE! and got some sales guys to follow me) to the manager office and said I want my keys. I am not negotiating I am leaving. Oh, well, they could have possibly sold me a car. But if this is the way they treat people, its indicative of how they treat people after the sale. Theres another Toyota dealer a little farther away, and if we want one instead of the other cars were looking at, well probably go there. Bye, Prestige.

I searched google and found some very interesting posts about prestige.

Must read for people of faith. All religions!
Prestige in Ramsey "discharged employees from their employment with a New Jersey automobile dealership because of their religious affiliation, contrary to the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination"
You can google "DOCKET NO. A-4629-05T24629-05T2"

Is Prestige of Ramsey an equal opportunity employer?

I got wind that vehicle services as not being done when you make an appointment so I google prestige toyota service. I had a good time reading all the reviews.
I was shocked to learn about employees winning a lawsuit for being terminated because of their Jewish religion. I read the post on google before seeing it in the above post. I'm shocked the people involved are still employeed at Prestige auto group.
This is the kind of things I've been hearing over and over from Prestige service center.
"I spent three weeks with this dealership looking for the right car, doing all the paperwork including finance and insurance, and settled on a certified vehicle only to be told by my salesperson on the day of delivery that a part was broken in the fuel system (?) and that it would take the dealership two days to acquire and install the part. In the meantime I discovered at my own expense that the car was in a three-car collision six months prior. When I expressed concern to my salesperson, seeking assurance that they would still certify a car that was impacted on the side and the front end, her simple response was: "it would be best to refund your deposit." That was it. No expression of concern, no offer to find another vehicle, no nothing. The next day I sent an email to her sales manager to find out what was going on - and to inform him of my utter frustration at this experience - and literally got no response. Nothing. I let four days slide without hearing a peep from these people until I finally asked my salesperson if they were killing the deal. She said, "I'm told yes." They did this without explanation and without the courtesy of at least a phone conversation with me. Maybe business is so good for these guys they can afford to turn away paying customers. This appalling experience flies in the face of their claim to be concerned about customer satisfaction. I'll be buying a Toyota elsewhere, which really annoys me because outside of the convenience of buying a car a few miles from my house, I wanted to keep my dollars local in my home community."
What happened to prestige? When did they turn into a dishonest dealership?

Prestige toyota service in Mahwah NJ is by far the worst I've seen in the entire automobile industry. I have tons of photos and videos that I will be uploading along with my service records showing the true colors of prestige service and their technitions. View pictures here https://twitter.com/prestigeproblem
I just fell off my chair when I read the article about prestige toyota terminating employees for being Jewish. Funny thing is I also see Prestige Toyota advertising on Craig's list for technicians. prestige is claiming they are an equal opertunity employer. IMO discharging employees for their religious beliefs is NOT an equal opert unity employer.
Remember driveprestige photos don't lie... https://twitter.com/prestigeproblem

Prestige toyota in Ramsey New Jersey has gone down hill so fast that it looks like it's being done on purpose. IMO they stopped working and caring about anything. Upper management at prestige is laughing as employees are leaving and going to the local competition. IMO this looks like a setup for bankruptcy. Current managment took prestige from first to third as of now. How do they keep their job with performance numbers like that.

I had a very bad experience at Ramsey toyota. when I purchased my brand new car it had. 140 miles on it.
when I picked it up a week later it had 360 miles on it.
They said it was because they took it to the service department to put on my new door bumpers.
To bad the service department is less than 5 miles away.
I questioned it and they have me free oil changed for a year,..big deal.
They way I looked at it they lied to me , what else did they lie to me about? from the sounds of things they lie to everyone who buys cars from.then.

Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman announced today that his office has reached a settlement with Kingston auto dealer Prestige Automobiles, Inc., doing business as Prestige Toyota, which was adding an improper $650 processing fee to the purchase price of leased vehicles bought by customers at the end of their leases. No additional services were provided for payment of this fee, which was not properly disclosed.
The law is clear: auto dealers must treat consumers fairly and honestly, and not cheat them by charging bogus fees,Attorney General Schneiderman said. This is one more step in our work to stop deceptive marketing practices in New York State and ensure that victims can recover their hard-earned dollars. There must be one set of rules for all New Yorkers, and that includes auto dealers.

Prestige Toyota has terrible service, attitudes, and they don't honor service contracts that people have. They also yell at you when you want them to honor what you paid for. Corporate got involved and they still wouldn't honor my paid for contract. Toyota of Newton has better prices, service, and attitudes. It's so worth the drive. I am a woman & they didn't pressure me, hassle me, and got me exactly what I wanted for $4000 less and gave me $2000 more on my trade than anywhere else. I have serviced my car there before and they were great. They unfortunately are 1.5 hours away almost and Prestige is only 10 minutes from where I live. So now I am publicly telling the world how I was badly treated. Before you buy you car from there beware of how much extra you are paying, and how you will be treated in the future. Cars are long term expenses that you will need serviced a lot.

With three recall notifications I took my car in to be serviced. Naturally, they found that the front brake pads needed to be replaced and the rotors 'machined.' I was quoted at price of around $350. Not knowing any better, I agreed and asked to use the 10% service coupon. A few hours later I got a call saying "Oh yes it's the rear brake pads as well." I paid the price (literally) for my lack of knowledge and being too busy/distracted to do my research. In the end, I paid over twice as much as I should. What's the saying? "Caveat emperator"? They were all friendly and courteous though, with a clean shop...
Took my car in for regular tune-up and maybe tire rotation. Waited forever and then ? came by to tell me that my car needed this and that, and gave me an estimate. But never told me about the extra time and thus labor hours. My jaw almost dropped when I saw the final bill. This place is dishonest, unfriendly, and serves to exist to rip off Toyota customers. I will never, ever, return to a Toyota shop. I much rather go to a local mechanic store and support my community business.

Boycot prestige automotive group...all of their brands. You must read this and you will want to boycott them aswell.
"...the day after the meeting, T came into A's office and, according to A's trial testimony, stated to him:
You f***king Jew, you think you're going to run this company with me[?] We hired you because we had to, not because we liked you. You'll be gone if it's the last thing I do."
Do not support prestige Toyota, Mercedes Benz, BMW, and any dealership these guys own. Boycot anyone that does business with them. There is no room for this in this world.

Click link below, or read post above this if you need a reminder. Copy link below and send the horrendous mind numbing comments to your religious organization, country club, or friends.
