A follow up on an Exclusive San Diego 6 report. Last year, we showed you pictures of sheriff's deputies handcuffing women for fun in a Ramona bar while on duty.
Now, a public defender wants to know if the sheriff's department is above the law.
Photos taken from inside the Ramona bar Molly Malones about 8 months ago show deputies Jesse Allensworth and Colby Hodge handcuffing and slapping girls while on-duty. Deputies are said to be at the bar several nights a week for hours at a time while on-duty.
Part of our story last September included a sheriff's spokesperson who promised they would conduct a thorough, methodical inquiry.
After filing a motion requiring the Sheriff's department to hand over findings of their investigation, the public defender says they were told an investigation was never done.
The executive officer of the Citizens' Law Enforcement Review Board said that although the board reports conduct complaints to the county, in the end, it's the sheriff's department who has the option to police itself.

The sheriff's are and was out of line there. Along with the vicious beating of Baker and Ortiz.
This bar is scum for our community, to many people die leaving this dive. Do to over serving and constant overflow of MINORS.
There are to many families effected by the garbage of this scumhole. Sooner or later ABC will shut this scumhole down. til then Ramona will keep seeing our people, our friends and family, killed by someone over served by either drugs and or alcohol, under the watchful eye of management who like Jim really does not care about Ramona.

It is against the law for someone to physical grab a person and throw them out a door for a non violent act. Seams I am getting a lot of calls concerning the physical abuse of the bouncer there. Please contact me if this thug physically touches you or anyone that you may know. They are very close to a violation of ABC laws. ABC unlike the lazy ass sheriff's dept. That polices this dive hole. They take more time trying to make criminals out of innocent people then they do fighting crime

I feel like I need to dispell some of the comments regarding Molly Malones. First of all, nobody got punched for enjoying surf school, although maybe they should've (ha ha)... second, nobody has been physically removed without proper cause. Furthermore, cameraman, get your facts straight, Nic was not, nor had he been at Molly's within a week of his death, we do not furnish alcohol to minors, nor do we permit or condone the use of narcotics. Molly's is a fun and safe environment to enjoy a band, play some pool or darts, or just hang out with friends. The only people that dislike our policies are the ones who have been permanently banned for their own inability to control their behavior, are abusive, and/or act inappropriately towards other patrons or staff. Mr. Baker was asked several times to leave by the deputies, and that's all he had to do was leave. But no, he continued to be verbally aggressive, and would not step back when asked. As a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure that they only tried to detain him after he said "arrest me then" or something to that effect. He had slapped a bartender after she declined his sexual advance just prior to that, and get this... He was not even a customer of molly's that night. He had been at the grand opening of another ramona bar. We work very hard to stop people from driving after they have been drinking, we make announcements, post signs, call taxis or friends for people, and intervene when we think someone may be over the limit to drive. We employ 14 people, most of which live here in ramona, and so are an integral part of the local economy. So before you believe any of the half-cocked hear say opinions of banned and disgruntled ex-patrons, take a second to realize that there are two sides to every story, and if you like live music and cold beer, we've got a seat for you here at Molly's. Judge for yourself!
