Only 1 Inmate to Have Supervision Upon Release

Only one of the violent North Carolina criminals set for release next week will have official supervision outside prison, and the state is rushing to establish community connections to transition them back to society.

I am sick of Bev Perdue! She's all the time taking money away from education and police force. While prisoners have access to cable tv, AC and heat, shelter, clothes/shoes, 3 GOOD meals a day, education.......etc! The local food pantrys are having to send needy families with young children away b/c they don't have food to give. Families w/ small children are living out on the streets. Old people will be freezing to death this winter b/c they can't afford gas for heat. Our children in public schools test scores are horrible, while child molesters and murders are getting a college education. The state can't afford police force to watch out for these criminals that are being released b/c of Perdue's money saving ideas. I'm tired of busting my butt everyday to try to take care of my family, more or less a criminal!

So these convicted felons are going to bbe set free based on a STUPID law passed by our intelligent(????) legislature in 1974? This is the biggest bunch of stupidity I've seen to come out of the legislature in a long time, and I've been living in this state for almost 40 years. The prisoners have come out the winners with a free roof over their heads, THREE free meals a day, free TV, free AC, and fee medical attention for ALL the years of their incarceration. We taxpayers are the losers, as usual - NOT the dumb legislators.

Yes, us tax payers are the losers! Bev Perdue, Roy Cooper and their staff should have better things to do with our tax money than try to figure out a way to keep these inmates locked up. The law says they are to be released and I am shocked that the tax payers money is used to try and keep the in prison. It is bad enough we have to pay there living expenses and now we have to pay again to try and keep them there! Has anyone bothered to get the inmates point of view? If so we have now been able to find it!!!

The killers and the people who have commited sex crimes need to stay where they are if they did it once then they will do it again. what about those people out there that it happened to don't you think that they are scared and fear for their lives and their familys lives? Don't you think that they have enough going on in their lives with out having to worry about going out to the supermarket with their children, and the person that either raped them or tried to rape them or abuse them in some way being there? all people think about is them selves not others i know a few people who have been hurt by others who are now in prison and thats where they need to stay they dont need to be out on our streets and try to hurt our children or try to hurt us. No one will look at it the same as others because its not happend to them and they have not seen or heard about the horrable things that was done to the people who have to live with waking up everyday and fear that he or she will be out of jail and try to find them again. I know my taxes pay for them to stay in jail and be feed and have air and heat and i don't mind it as long as it keeps me and my family and friends safe from harmful people.
