1 Well Michael, why don't you invite them over for some cookies and milk and so they can babysit your children? People like this are the reason people like Sgt. Hutchins lose their lives and it's COMPLETELY unnecessary. If we'd just keep them locked up where they belong, we could prevent so much more violent crime from happening You can welcome them back with open arms, but I will steer clear. Our justice system disgusts me. |

1 Well by your logic why dont we just start shipping them off to uninhabited islands like they use to do with debtors from england to Georgia... or when the British sent there inmates to Australia. im sorry but people do make mistakes... we are human. i believe that in the bible it says "to ere is human but to forgive divine". |

1 I never once mentioned "shipping them off to uninhabited islands". I just think they should remain in jail and serve the duration of their sentence. Since when does a life sentence equal 20-40 years? Life sentence to me means spending the REST of their lives in prison. Let's see how divine you will remain if one of your family members is raped or killed by one of these lunatics. You won't be so forgiving then. It's easy to judge when it's not you personally that is affected by the heinous crimes of these disgusting individuals. |

Should we release the other thousands of inmates who don't qualify for release through the loophole as well? Or just these 20 individuals just because their crimes happened in the 1970s, just before this loophole was closed?
And I believe the proper use of the word "there" you are looking for is actually "their". No, these people are not sent to prison in order to "turn around there lives"...they are sent to prison as punishment and to keep them isolated from the rest of society. I'm guessing you've served time based upon your ridiculous viewpoint of violent criminals. I think arguing with a grapefruit would make more sense than trying to understand your logic. |

In the words that are so commonly used on the most major and minor offenses, "the law is the law". And since our law leaders also use the phrase "ignorance of the law is now excuse", then we have to abide by those laws, no matter how they may make us feel personally and/or morally. These could be some very dangerous people to be let loose as free persons. But, it is up to the lessons taught during their being locked up, their hopefully new sense of morality and humanity, and prayer that we hope they do not return to freedom only to do the same or worse things that cost them their freedom.
We all have to understand that loopholes and legal missteps keep lawbreakers free daily. Some of those people have done things that affect hundreds and thousands of citizens. The true problem here is that our law makers do not pay attention to the laws. This could have been avoided if there were persons whose job is to review old and outdated laws and keep them up to date. Have a great week all and pray everyday. |
