I didnt know ashlyn, never met her. But I have a niece that is 11 and knew of her. My nieces friend was extremely close to her and is devistated. I went up to the memorial this morning and left some roses for her. This is such a tragedy. And whether or not she was playing or crossing should not be discussed in such a manner. A life has been lost, a young life. I never once met this girl and yet have cried like I have...GOD BLESS YOU ASHLYN AND MAY YOU REST IN PEACE!!!!!! R.I.P. <<<333

i only met ashlyn a few weeks ago at a dance recital. but she was a great person. we became friends almost instantly and were laughing and smiling. she was gorgeous, but i believe that every person has a set birth date and a set death date. unfortunatly for ashlyn hers came too early. her friends can't cope too well with the death and loss, i doubt her family can at all.
the point being: we all miss you like crazy. we hope to see you once again in heaven, but we all want to see you before that. god works miracles, and you were one of them. R.I.P <3 |

To the family and friends of beautiful Ashlyn:
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of sorrow. I read about this in the paper and was really touched. It is so sad when such an innocent person leaves us so early. Words will never heal, I know that. I hope that you find comfort in knowing that you and Ashlyn are in my thoughts daily. This is a crazy world. One in which we will probably never fully understand. Ashlyn walks with God now. To her parents: I have a child of my own, he is 4 yrs old. My pastor at church once said that are purpose as parent are to care for our children and to love them unconditionally. They are not ours, we are only borrowing them. They (we) are all children of God. She is with him.:) Be still, and know that God will help you through this. Cry....let it out. But dont let your tears distiguish the flame on Ashlyn's candle. She cant see without it. Love, Drea Piscataway, NJ P.S. here is a poem for you By Odain A man had a little daughter--an only and much beloved child. He lived only for her, she was his life. So when she became ill and her illness resisted the efforts of the best obtainable physicians, he became like a man possessed, moving heaven and earth to bring about her restoration to health. His best efforts proved fruitless unavailing, however, and the child died. The father was totally irreconciliable. He became a bitter recluse, shutting himself away from his many friends refusing every activity that might restore his poise and bring him back to his normal self. Then one night he had a dream. He was in heaven, and witnessing a grand pageant of all the little child angels. They were marching in an apparently endless line past the Great White Throne. Every white-robed, angelic tot carried a candle. He noticed, however, that one child's candle was not lit. Then he saw that the child with the dark candle was his own little girl. Rushing towards her, while the pageant faltered, he seized her in his arms, caressed her tenderly, and asked, "How is that your candle is the only one not lit?" "Father, they often relight it, but your tears always put it out again," she said. Just then he awoke from from his dream. The lesson was crystal clear, and it's effects were immediate. From that hour on he was no longer a recluse, but mingled freely and cheerfully with his former friends and associates. No longer would his little darling's candle be extingushed by his useless tears |

Another liber moron heard from! What part of, the kids playing on the tracks were trespassing on private property, don't YOU the idiot understand? What part of, PARENTS RAISE YOUR OWN KIDS, don't YOU the buffoon, understand? What part of, YOU know nothing about braking systems on commuter, and freight trains, don't YOU the f*cking idiot, understand? Go learn something about brake systems for trains before you post this liberal diatribe! |

I knew OF Ashlyn. She went to my school and everybody has told me what a truly and genuinely beautiful person she was. Inside and out.
1.She wasn't playing. Friends that were there told one of my friends the true story. 2.to the person awhile back who put their name to ashlyn and said "damn that train came outta nowhere" .. you are a sick bastard. that's not funny at all. this is a tragedy and for you to mock it is just evil. Karma will get you soon enough... |

It is really sad what happened, however in defense of the train engineer, it takes a mile for that train to stop. Apparently the girl was playing "chicken" on the tracks with her friends and did jump off but too late.
