Woman charged in plastic surgery-related death of Newark cop

Union County authorities charged a Colombian native Tuesday with aggravated manslaughter in the death of a former Newark police officer who died after undergoing a plastic surgery procedure.

One has to question why an obviously intelligent woman (Arroyo) would allow an unlicensed individual to perform surgery on her. Even more disturbing is the fact that someone who spent their life in law enforcement would enable Jaramillo to violate the same laws Ms. Arroyo was sworn to uphold. Ms. Arroyo paid a high price. Hopefully, others will learn from her tragedy.
