And quit being a.holes about the situation, we all agree that the man was only protecting himself!! It is easy to see that there will be pain felt on both sides of this issue. And you don't know how that man feels about shooting a kid...although he is only doing what MANY of us would do.. he may feel terrible about what he has done and will live with the knowledge for a long time to come.

Seriously? Angry at the homeowner that he shot someone who broke into his home? How sad. What has this country come to. So it is okay to break into a person's home in the middle of the night, armed, with the intent to do God knows what, but it isn't okay to defend yourself? That is pathetic. If this kid would of been at home where his ass should of been at that time of night, he wouldn't be laying on a slab right now would he? Nope he would be alive and breathing. This kid deserves no respect at all. He completely got what he deserved by violating the law and the rights of the homeowner to be safe in his home. Don't be a criminal, and you won't get served justice int he shape of a bullet.

Why is this FIVE year old article still here. I find it hard to believe nothing has happened in Raeford since this incident. This must be like the deadest new feed ever.

If ya break into someone's house, you're pretty much asking to get ya head blown off, ya know? Sure, it hurts for the people who knew the guy, but he was in the wrong. I would of done the exact same thing.
I find it hard to believe that people are defending the crook and villifying the shooter. I can't understand that.

I agree with you totally! trouble is in this day and age no one wants to take responsibility for the wrong they do, maybe he was a good guy but so is the home owner who was in fear for his life.
