I just find it silly that you come on a topic that is about "is kenosha a ghetto town" yet your comment is about a person who can not spell. I do not use the computer much nor do I know where the spell check is. It seems that we have a whole group of people that feel they are smart because thjey use a computer. I think this has in turn created a mentality of you are low class factory worker, who does not use a computer , I am a higher class person because I use a computer. My question is what do you actully do or produce. We already saw what this mentality has done to the banking industry as well as the wall street sock market. I think the SHTF already. WE either change or we will see all of the USA as a ghetto!
hey docreflex, I didnt know we have a 'sock" market. I just bought a pair of socks at Walmart so maybe I could have gotten them cheaper at the "sock market" you speak of.
By the way, spellcheck is something you could use. It would have corrected your grammar as follows:
actully= actually
thjey = they

I've lived here for a bit more then a year. I love Kenosha. I'm not sure that I'll ever leave this city. I love the festivals, separation between downtown and the chains/big boxes, decent schools, easy access to Chicago and Milwaukee attractions, and I love how friendly everyone is. If there was better Metra service and the KRM line built, it would be the perfect oasis between two big cities.

I read about the proposed KRM line, but it seems that any type of high speed rail always gets squashed. I was thinking more along the lines of a rail system that your car hooks up to, and then you exit off of it when your destination is reached. No I am not even smokin anything!

Hate having to drive through the ghetto to enjoy the lake front. I don't want to stop at any gas station or fast food place after 39th Avenue heading east. We are chaning up the norm...no more visiting the same parks we use to, too many rough people hanging out where what should be and what use to be family picnic areas. Now that my children are getting older, they see it.

Kenosha does have plenty of organizations to be part of; sports teams, restaurants, and colleges, for the youth to stay out of harms way.

No work in Kenosha for over $8 an hour, unless you have a degree, and there are plenty of resources available to earn one. The only grant I can find is the Pell Grant, it is a great incentive for a hard working mother to earn her degree.

Find the Good in Kenosha, by establishing specific organizations to be affiliated with and this will open the doors to finding the right people in the town to become friendly with.

Let's join to be better civilians and put a STOP TO VIOLENCE!

I was shocked to hear about the two murders on the north side of Kenosha. There were also two gun fights reported around 63rd street in August. Yes, something is wrong. Kenoshan will have to stiffen their backs and harden their hearts and fight back against the cruds that have infected the place.

We are like any other city in the midwest, no better no worse. Crime, unemployment and certain citizens in in our town have left a negative image: However so many more new residents have worked hard to make Kenosha their home, a home they are proud of. Our church's, our universities our civic groups
all play a vital role in making our city a better place to live.
So, instead of being negative, instead of stating facts that you have no evidence to support your comments with why don't you invest into our community in a more positive way. If you do you might begin to not only feel good about Kenosha but you might start feeling GOOD about yourself.

This is for dave65: you should worry more about the image Glenview has on its western border, the apartments around Milwaukee Ave, then whats happening in our community.

Are you sure you are living in Kenosha? Frinedly? not sure what planet you are on??? That is reported killing and reported rapes As for crime you must not be able to read. Do you think all killings rapes or other violent crimes are reported? Got to keep the statistic downsomehow... Ever spend time in downtown Kenosha at night? Why does Kenosha have so many bars? with the recession these bars seem to thrive. Looks to me like Kenosha is a drinking town. What do you think?
The bars are not thriving, we lost about 5 a year and there "thrive" is off colloge kids and alchoholics the same as the rest of wisconsin. Our politics and people are idiots, myself included.
