So this is what it takes to get deported? I wish the article wouldn've focused on how this US citizen can be deported - what's the statute? It sure took a long time - kudos to the government for being so quick.

This PoS should have been gone years ago. He says he simply turned his back and refused orders to kill prisoners while the guy next to him at his post fired away.

Yeah right. Why would anyone believe an SS guard would be allowed another breath after refusing those orders.

He is probably being deported for lying on his application to enter the US, or his application for citizenship. Membership in the SS is automatically a war crime (no one was forced into the SS, no matter what this man says).

What "conscience?" He could stand by and watch these things happe, then lie about it. Send him away.

"The name of my honor is truth" was the motto of the SS (Schutzstaffel, the killer elite of the Nazis).

You gotta love this country & our endless waste of tax dollars spent...So let me understand this...We the tax payers spend tens of thousands of dollars per case to locate " aledged " people who had no choice but to partake or die in these senseless acts at some level of world war two some 65 plus years ago. Someone whom im certin had tried to move on in life , create a family, work & pay taxes in a free country until he was in his confronted at age age that the only fear we have living by this man is he might eat to many prunes & ruin a pair of underwear ?

Gee...I feel so much safer; and what does this do 65 plus years later to solve anything except re-kindle feels & shatter lives today for those in his family whom have nothing to do with that horrible time in the world. Whats his 5 yr old grand son who doesnt understand anything but the fact some people took Grandpa away do ? This is damaging to a little person for life.

The little i know of war is i hate the fact they had happend, but what we are doing now is wrong on many levels, and changes nothing but hurt in one way or another on both sides .

Im a business owner in Racine,Wi that pays a ridiculous amounts of taxes so those whom choose to debate me better have the W-2`s to back your opinion -

Im calling Bill O`Rielly on this one tomorrow !

I am sure many other immigrants have lied on their applications for Visas or on their Citizenship.

It is easier to focus on the Nazis, because of the nature of the crimes.

Being a member of the SS is not a war crime.

Forced, no, but coerced, yes. Some entered the SS in order for their families to survive in wartime Germany.

Yes people were forced into the SS, if not by Hitler, by their own families in order to survive.

THe SS was a criminal organization, so having been a member is automatically considered a war crime. No one was "coerced" into joining: the SS was an elite organization that picked and chose from volunteers. You are confusing the SS with the regular army.

"I didn't pull the trigger" seems to be a common excuse among the elite SS guards at Trawniki...

Afraid not. I had relatives in the US and the German armed forces during WWII. There were deaths on both sides of my family. I had a cousin who was an SS officer. He was investigated and never charged with any crime. I had uncles in the US Navy, Marines, and Air Corps

You may not know it, but there were Polish and Muslim SS groups.

SS members swore oaths of loyalty to Hitler, not their home countries. Yes, they came from all over Europe and North Africa.

Was your cousin admitted to the US? Immigration law bars the admission of aliens who participated in Nazi persecutions or genocide. As a rule, that means former SS members are barred.
