Cheap apartments (Or Government apartments) in ashland

Hey all,

My wife has decided life would be better off with out me and gave me the boot. Long story won't bore you. I was living in morehead and now couching it where I can.

Morehead is too small of a city, and I want to avoid her at all cost. I went to Grayson, but it would be long waiting list for anything.

So next up is Ashland. I need a cheap apartment that doesn't require much of a lease (Grayson apartment gonna open up in 2 months), or Government housing.

I know nothing of housing in Ashland, which kind of Neighborhoods there is, etc, etc. I'm a pretty tame person, and like my surroundings not to be filled with drugs and violence if at all possible.

If anyone has any suggestions, please point me in right direction, having really hard time at the moment. Thanks!

By Government housing I of course mean Government apartments. Just clearing that up :)

Decent apts are not cheap , you didn't define what you consider cheap . check the paper. If you need gov housing you get what goes with it.

Under stand what you say about Gov Housing, I am just wondering if one is worse than others etc. I know the ones in huntington, some are nice, and some are to be avoided at all cost.

Just wondering if someone could point me to some that, may not be the ones to avoid at all cost.

By cheap, I mean government after looking through the paper :p

Creek brdge is the nicest looking, bruce or hillcrestt gets you in the fastest.

I'm making a list of apartments that are income based. So far I got HillCrest, Gla-low, Bruce, and Creek Bridge. Anyone got anymore, I can just drive and look at them. I'll just yahoomaps to find them.

Also heard that the High Rise (Don't know its name) is income based. Anyone know if thats true?

As long as you aren't in to drugs and things Bruce and Hillcrest sound about what you are looking for.

There are a lot of apartments in Ashland. Is that one in DOWNTOWN Ashland called Henry Clay or something? SOmeone help me out here I don't know much about it or if that's the right name to tell him.

May wanna check out Scope Towers or try Catlettsburg, KY for apartmends. It's a small town, nothing to do but close to Kenova, WV; the interstate, Huntington and Ashland.

Also the Daily Independent is online, you can look at the classifieds there. Will save you money on buying a newspaper at least.

Gla-low seems fine, easy to find,US 60 just on the outskirt of town . don't think henry clay bld is low income . I would avoid Hillcrest if you want quiet, lots of kids.
