What the heck is going on with the baseball coaching situation at Raceland highschool??? Please tell me we can do better than Mike sergeant!!! I just got back from Florida and I've never seen anything like it. The man never shuts up the entire game but at the same time never says anything useful. Why is it that we can't get a baseball coach at Raceland? We haven't had a J.V. Coach for as far back as I can remember. Steve Darby and Randy Morris Are always over there and It amazes me to this day that nobody has ever ask either of the two two help out in any way. They have 3 state championships between the two of them and several undefeated seasons under there belt. They continually turn out good players and for the life of me I can't figure out why they aren't asked to help. Instead we get Mike seargent!! What the hell is going on?!! Does coach vanderhoof not care enough about the program to get good coaches? I mean....it all starts with him. somebody please weigh in on this and let me hear another opinion.

HALLELUHHA BROTHER!!!.....PREACH IT!! i ALSO WAS IN fLORIDA. does Mike sergeant know that a baseball is round? What about Seth pack letting Sargent take over the team. just from talking to some of the boys they hate it and wabt somebody else to coach many of them say they aren't coming out next year if he coaches again.

Maybe they are trying to destroy the program. Maybe they want kids to stop coming out. If that's the case they should just come out and say so....So we who like baseball can transfer to another school.

if they needed a coach for football they would go on a world wide search for one. When thay need a baseball coach they get a tire salesman....go figure.

arent you the same idiots bitching about the 6th grade basketball coach...thanks for narrowing the search down to the seventh grade parents...you all think your kids are so awesome at all sports and I have news for you there isn't a kid at raceland who will be receiveing a scholarship for sports. Yet all you all want is for your kids to be in the spotlight. That is the worst group of parents I have ever seen. Your kids are snotty and think they are better then all of the other kids because they watch how you all behave. I for one hope that some of you do switch your kids schools!!!! Just realize the seventh grade parents are talked about all the time and not in a good way!! You would run over anyone to get your kids farther.

It's sad to sit at a game and hear a select number of parents complain about the coaching, it is one thing to talk amongst themselves, they are entitled to their options and they have the right to voice them, but to call over players and moan about the coaches/coaching styles to the players is simply childish and pathetic!

What's sad RC Miller is that a school will sit by and watch things like this happen. I think you are right about calling players over and complaining about it in front of the kids. What they should do is take their complaints to the administration.

Our kids are better than everybody elses. We should have that whole school to ourselves and everybody else should go somewhere else. The rest of those non-talented kids are breathing our air.

Shame on you "get er done" for talking about the 7th grade parents and the kids . Looks to me like you have issues yourself. Do your children act the way you do? I have set and listened to some of the 8 and 9 grade parents run there mouthes and they are no better. What it all comes down to is everyone wants there kids to be the best they can be.

Well....I'm not a 7th grade parent and watching the J.V. team is sickening to say the least. There is no discipline on the team whatsoever. You can Tell they have no respect for Mr. Sargent. He doesn't seem to have any clue about what he is doing and.....Yes I know what you are saying I have never seen anybody talk so much and say absolutely nothing if I played on that team I couldn't concentrate with somebody constantly yelling the entire game. I remember one game when our pitcher was getting ready to pitch and he screamed at the top of his lungs at seemingly no one and scared the absolute life out of the pitcher. As far as get er done goes.....don't you want the best for your kid at whatever he/she does be it athletic or academic. I know I do and I'm here to tell you the school has dropped the ball big time on this j.v coaching deal. Why you would get the guy you got when there were several people you could have asked not all from Raceland either.

I couldn't agree more get er done!!! When you feel like you have to degrade other children like some of those 7th grade parents do, to make sure people think your kid is the best, then there is a major problem. And it's not all the 7th grade parents that do this, HOWEVER IT'S ALOT OF THEM. And I did read all of the posts that was put on here about the 6th grade bball situation and it was some of the same people who are commenting on here that was running there mouths there. Yes Randy is a good coach, however there is a reason him and Darby wasn't asked by hoof and it could mean that Raceland is taking the outlook of not wanting all of the drama that comes with them as coaches. There are lots of kids that wouldn't play for them maybe that's the problem!!!

Sorry I am a 7th grade parent, but not one of those. You should have a kid in that class who is not good enought to play with the other pros. This has been going on since this bunch of kids was in kindergaraden. But look at it on the bright side how many of these kids will sports take them anywhere in a career or in college when the dads can't coach the team. Some kids even change school when dad can't coach their team lol.

Please explain right on.....what Drama would that be. If you are going to bring it up give some examples. The only kids that wouldn't play for them are kids who don't want to become any good at baseball or any other sport for that matter. They push and demand that you get better.

You are probably one of the people who wanted these people to coach and constantly begged to have your kid on the team and then when he wasn't good enough to be there you want to blame it on everything but your childs total lack of talent.

My god.....What do you people have against winning??? Why do two people who have done nothing but win and turn out good players always get attacked by jackasses who know nothing. What drama??? They have dedicated their lives to helping every kid who wants help on a baseball field and you people want to bash them It's beyond me what people are thinking. Those two have broken their backs for that aabc over there in worthington. What Drama??? There are always going to be kids who don't want to play for somebody. but if I was going to play baseball it would be for one of those guys.

Wow.....I've heard it all now. Taking pot shots at probably the two best coaches highschool college or otherwise. Wow....A new low for some of you people. While we are at it. Marty Mills gets thrown into that pile too. Make that 3 of the best coaches around getting dogged on this site. i wish some of you would define what a good goach is so I will know one when I see one cuz I must be confused.

Just got back from the JV fiasco. They should put that stuff on funniest home videos. It was an absolute embarassment to the sport of baseball. i would like to know why the head coach holds the scorebook while the tire salesman attemmpts to coach the team. If this keeps up there won't be a team next year. i don't know if half of these kids will make it through all of this year. I know as a fan it's really hard to watch. no get er done I don't have a kid on the team but I know baseball when i see it and that wasn't it tonight.

What would lead you to believe it was 7th grade parents who was commenting on 6th grade coach? We could careless who is coaching the grade below us. We had good coaches so don't blame us for your 6th grade mess. and then you want to talk about our kids and say they are snotty. When you went to the 6th 7th and 8th grade games who was the only group of kids sitting in the bleachers watching the other kids playing and not acting like jackasses. The 7th grade...thank you. i guess when you got it people just don't like you for it. by the way get er done.......Go straight to hell.

Not to take any sides but if Raceland JV had the three freshmen playing varsity they would be much better!!!! They need pitching bad and all three pitch!! As a matter of fact I was told one of them got the varsity win tonight!
