Pikeville Fire

We are trying to remember an FF Instructors name that taught a rope rescue class a few years ago at fire school. His name was either John or Don, We know he and Ronald Conn were best of friends and you could really tell they trusted each other no looking over the others work you could tell they trusted each other and didn't need to. He also taught the hard to get hours a couple years ago and done a great job. All day classes only seemed a couple hours long. He and the guys at Pikeville were the best, BAR NONE. Where is he and how is he now.

The instructor you are talking about, I would bet his name is Don Fyffe, he retired from Paintsville some time ago due to cancer. You are right, he is the best instructor, and yes you could tell he and Ronald Conn were very good friends and trusted each other. I will also say he and all the men at Pikeville worked very hard and were dedicated to what they do. I have been in his classes and yes the day past very quickley. This man was awsome, and who ever he worked with always looked up to him and trusted his ability. A piece of advice would have been if you were lazy, stay away from he and Ronald, they would work your butt off. Now, THATS TRAINING
