SO what is wrong with the backstops? the high does nothing to them, no more then any of those teams from ETB would do. And fixing up the dugouts and all, don't the people picking up trash and doing other things out there considered HELP. The parents do not RUN that REC up there so in no way is the bathrooms the parents responsibilty. It is so not OUR fault that we are waiting on him to text or call us to tell us when practice is, we are always waiting on him to tell us so we can get started. You are right no one does wanna coach out there i talked to atleast 4 people who said they are not going to coach any more and rather watch there child play. You are right the girls ages 11-13 have NO ball to play other then middle school and i don't count highly on that. How do you know how much money is given to who and what is spent on any of those ETB's is there a record to look.. someone awfully close has to know how much money is given out to these people

The records are at the county office and by law they have to give them to you. You just have to know what to ask for. I'm sure if you ask around town you'll find someone with copies of the checks and invoices. Also, ask about a copy of his answers to some parents. He clearly says the bathrooms are the responsibility of the parents whos kids trash them, the backstops are messed up because of teams(especially girls HS softball) playing without a catcher and he has to have help to fix the dug outs. He also says he's waiting for wiring or something for the scoreboard to be fixed. That scoreboard has been down for how many years now?. You should really attend a rec board meeting and hear how the blame for lack of practice and communication is thrown off on the coaches and parents. You should bring as many coaches as possible. There's a lot of good coaches here, but he's running them off along with the kids.

Next year why don't all the parents just go to Valdosta or Thomsville, which ever is closest. I know it would cost a little more money in gas but actions speak louder than words and that would send a pretty powerful message in my opinion. Especially since it doesn't seem like the county is listening to your concerns.

I don't understand what he is talking about about the backstops, but anyway. the wiring? come on now how long have they been looking like that a heck of a long time i see. and yes i remember when that scoreboard did blow down and asked him when he was going to but it back up, he told me next week, which has been atleast a year and half for sure. You can't just take all the kids over to thomasville or valdosta alot of parents can't do that and this is local.... it is for the kids they need to have something to do and playing ball means we know where they are and keeps our children active. i might just have to go to a rec board meeting and find out what is going on and who says this and who says that.

Alright now, i have seen things fixed and some are improving but not alot... But i always see when you need or want something it doesn't happen. Like the allstar uniforms, the boys stuff is always there and ready to be givin out, yet i ask him about the girls stuff, and he freaks out and is like you get them when i get them. Well i do not appreciate that kind of attitude when i ask about the REC which you GET PAID to do.. and not worry about your travel team. REC things come first i thought. I guess i was wrong, i guess you can make things up as you go and just worry about yourself rather then all them parents that PAID for there child to play rec ball.... SMH

So i see we got wind screen up and the fence ppl put that new fence up mighty fast, where all this money come from? like it just appeared and now things are done. Oh besides saftey , like a extra 1st base so no one gets hurt where i already seen like 4 ppl get hurt , b/c it was to expensive to replace. and the score boards you can barely tell what the score is b/c half the bulbs are out, and some of the big lights are even out......

My daughter plays and her age group is down to two teams. My son plays and his age group is down to 3 teams. Once again tonight there was no umpire. A half hour after the game was to begin I asked Carl how this can keep happening. He replied only "it's not my fault". I asked if he was in charge. He replied "yes". So I asked then how is this not your fault". A parent watching his daughter play ended up calling the game while Carl went behind the concession stand and sat on a bucket. I understand that there may be a game that someone doesn't show but when it happens every week at what point does the director show due diligence and at least try to rectify the situation instead of simply saying it's not his fault and do nothing but sit on a bucket? As far as I know Carl's position is a year round position. The only 2 sports that I am aware of that he runs are soccer and baseball. Last year my children did not play soccer because 1. The prior year the entire season was 3 weeks. 2. The season began during football season. As far as the bathrooms are concerned...there has never been a season in any sport my children have ever participated in that there has been soap. Is it the parents responsibility to bring their own soap? I do believe that what holds the dept together are the parents who care about the kids. The parents who are still willing to put up with texts that are sent at 10:00 at night by Carl and coach anyway. It's the parents who continue to show up for games with no umpires. The parents who step in while Carl says "it's not my fault" and sits on a bucket.

"Concerned Mom".....and this baseball season is only a month long! This is my child's first year playing and just when he begins to have fun and really starts to learn something, it's done! I realize I'm new this year (held off due to only text messaging-don't really text) but this could be run so much better it would seem. Coaches weren't lined up until after tryouts were scheduled (which were delayed). Kids aren't really made aware when the season begins (unless you text and that's iffy), if they want to play in Brooks at all that is. Several parents have been discussing giving up on this next year, which is just sad. Not all the kids can get to the next county to practice/play.
My child did try to use the restroom the other night and came back out refusing...."they are too nasty". Oh and please don't get me started on the mosquito problem. It's a wonder half these kids haven't contracted West Nile.

Well where can I start.. I know i'm alittle late on this page and honestly don't know how it came up but reading through these dumbass comments, I couldn't resist not saying something. First off I have been in Brooks County for years and years and my kids and their kids have grown up here but the program has never been this good until Carl arrived and I am sure it will go down now because he is gone. I know everyone from here and know everything about them and I have never seen so many jealous people that wish they had talent like he had. It's fine to not like someone but it's disrespectful to mess with a man's job that has a family and trying to support them. Where was everyone when the fields looked like shit and no one played in the leagues, exactly you weren't there. Some "men" in Brooks County think they are the "shit" but really aren't, for example if you graduated 30 years ago DO NOT wear your highschool letterman to the football games.. DO NOT walk around like you are something because if you were you wouldn't be on this page worrying about something that does not concern you. It just clearly means you amounted to nothing. And another thing about these tournaments on the weekends that occurred.. anybody could rent the fields and have tournaments out there that doesnt take a damn rocket scientist, once again clearly means you are a dumbass and DO NOT know what you are talking about. You can do that at any park.. Which is what he did. People get your facts straight so you don't sound like dumb-asses on the internet. Carl did a great job. Ready to see how the leagues will be this coming up season.. best of luck to you all.
