News Flash!!!:

There are women in all 50 states living off of child support. My son's ex-wife doesn't work, and has no plans to work. They've been divorced 5 yrs, and had 2 boys during that time. She's been married twice since then...and 3 more kids. My son's going to school, and working part time. They take $100.00 a wk out for child support. By the time they take everything else out, he's lucky to have $30. for the week. He lives with us, or he'd never survive. I think both parents should contribute to the wellbeing of the children...but that's just me.

That's what Child support is all about! To make a living for your children! As long as a child or children doesn't go without then what does it matter??????

What about a women who had a relationship for a year with a guy, was supposedly raped by him, never filed a report and refuses to pursue by law the child support owed to the kid?
Of course their is no contact between them, sort of like closing the door and trying to forget her bad mistake in her choice of men, and her bad past? He was a small time druggie, and she indulged occasionally.

the money paid either by the man or woman is for the support of the children. that doesn't mean the parent man or woman live off of it. get off of your ass and support yourself and further support your child. you had them they didn't ask for it. we're put on this earth to multiply but we also need to support from both genders. if you can live off of child support you're lucky and lazy. most can't. grow up be responsible and prosper. if not only as a human but as a parent.

I am a single mother and know all about child support if and when I receive it . If a person can live off the child support and still be able to be home with the children, I say go for it. Someone needs to be home to take care of the little ones. I work all the time and still struggle with no help from their worthless father. It seems like the fathers get by with not paying. I have went two years at a time without one penny and go to the mail-box to find a check for $1.24. I don't now why they waste the paper, this still ticks me off. So, if I could live off the child support I would without a doubt spend more time with my kids. This certainly don't mean I am lazy, it just means I would take a break to be with my kids. Unfortunately, I have never been this lucky, but for those who can congratulations. You deserve every penny.

it's not living off of your children. yes you have a few both genders who do this. but for most of the people everywhere whichever parent has custody living off of child support isn't an option. it's really not even living off of child support. what most people receive wouldn't even put a dent in the raising of their children. come on grow up stop whining and go beyond the child support. like helping with school clothes, supplies college tuition. that's not child support it's your duty as a parent and human being.

The way you are sent child support in WV you cant live off of it or support your children! You have to get a job. They collect from the fathers but send it to you whenever they feel like it. Ive had to go as far as meeting with the family court judge to get it. This is uncalled for.

please don't wory about the other parent. just do what you need to do for your child and be proud. even if it means working 2 or 3 jobs. help them do better for themselves than you did. it's our job as parents. always wanting them to have better.to do better to succeed. that's all that matters. i know b/c i am a very proud mother doing it on my own. and i would do anything. for my child to succeed. just my thoughts.

first they take their license then they jail them for not paying. so then we the taxpayers pay for his room and board.life is not fair. but the children are innocent.

thats a very good question! I wish I knew the answer! every time I take him to court he has an excuse and they except it. I think he knows someone that knows the judge thats the only thing that makes sence. even kelly Kemp takes his side and he chooses not to work. It really is sad.

Your all a bunch of idiots. My ex gets 50,000 a year off my child support , leaving me without enough to pay my rent. She doesnt have to work the lazy bum. This is common. Dont believe the media and government lies.

Guys listen to the the voice of experience, dont make the mistake I made, dont get married and DONT HAVE CHILDREN, Marriage is just a scam against men.

Wow, Tim...seeing as how there's a court formula, as in mathematics, to decide who pays what in the support issue...you must be making quite a good living, in order for your ex to get $50k per year.

I'm sure your children appreciate the fact that you advise other men to never have any. Class act.

this must be a man that started this sight. only a man would complain about child support. grow up men and pay for the children you help brought into the world.

Since my seperation from my x husband 3 years ago as I single mom of 2 I work 6 days a week just to make ends meet cause I have never recieved a penny to help me from him. It is hard. It should be BOTH parents responibility to help care for their children. If I had help from him they could have extra things in there life instead of having to go without extra things that kids should be able to have. It does take so much time away from your kids for 1 parent to have it all on their shoulders. I would love to be able to spend more time with my kids. If I had help I could work part time and the rest be able to do the things I want to with my children.
