Acts, Chapter 2
38:Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

"and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost"

Heath,

HAVE YOU RECEIVED THE GIFT OF THE HOLY GHOST?

DO YOU HAVE THE GIFT OF THE HOLY GHOST?

If not, do you want to become a member of the church that Jesus started and that you can read about in the Book of Acts in the Bible?

YOU MUST RECEIVE THE GIFT OF THE HOLY GHOST.

As according to the word of God... Acts 2:38.

All you people who are meeting with people every Sunday that call themselves the Church of Christ.

To be saved and added to the Lord's church you must..

1. Repent

2. be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins.

3. receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Now I know the cults and fakes say that all they have to do is...

1. Repent

2. be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins.

BUT THAT IS NOT WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS.

THE BIBLE SAYS THAT TO BE SAVED AND ADDED TO THE LORD'S CHURCH...

To be saved and added to the Lord's church you must..

1. Repent

2. be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins.

3. receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.(Eph. 4:4)

One God
One Faith
One Baptism

There are as many baptisms as there are Gods, Faiths, bodies or Spirits.

Just ONE.

Water baptism is practiced by just about every church today. So this is accepted as the one baptism of today.

Some people claim the baptism of the Holy Spirit is also for today. The problem people have is proving the gifts truly exist today.

We read of notable miracles which were done by the apostles in the first century.

What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.(Acts 4:17).

Nothing like the miracles we read about in the verse above happens today.

Gifts of the Holy Spirit were given for a specific reason. They were not just done to be doing a miracle. And not everyone was healed in the first century. The reason for miracles can be found in (Heb. 2;3,4).

How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; 4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?(Heb. 2:3,4)

The miracles proved man speaking was sent from God. The miracles also proved the message this man spoke was sent from God. this was because they had no bibles for some time.

But the gifts were only to last till the unity of the faith ...(Eph. 4:11-14).

8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. 9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.(1Cor. 13:8-10)

The PERFECT above is referring to the completed revelation of God (Perfect Law of Christ).

25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty,...(James 1:25)

1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. 2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.(Gal. 6:1)

The gifts could only be passed on to another person by "the laying on of the apostles hands" (Acts 6:6 ; 8:18).

6 Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.

18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,

All the original apostles died around the end of the first century. Since the last apostle died there has not been anyone who could pass on the gifts to another person. The gifts ceased b/c the only people who could pass them on to others died long ago.

39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.(Acts 2:38)

For the promise is unto you,(Jews)

and to your children,

and to all that are afar off,(Gentiles)

even as many as the Lord our God shall call.(2Thess. 2:14)

21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.(Acts 2:21)

What ever (Acts 2:38) is talking about it is being offered only to those the Lord CALLS.

One must be called correctly and one must answer that call correctly or no promise is due you.

If one studies the promise spoken of it will lead you back to Abraham.

Acts 2:38 seems to make it clear the promise is forgiveness of sins.

Even in the OT Law it told of a New Covenant which would forgive sins.

12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.(Heb. 8:12)(Jer. 31:34).

If there is anyone who has the gift of preforming miracles just let us know. We will contact 20/20 or 60 minutes and I am sure they will bring cameras to the location you desire so we can capture this notable miracle in real time.

Well...we have figured out how to make you stop answering questions.

Now if we can just figure out how to make you stop asking questions.

How do we do that?
