What the heck? Why did I need to know that and what does it have to do with RCYA or RCYD? Just curious.

Its all about winning the championship game. Kids play to have a little fun. After about two weeks, playtime is replaced with Dad's ego-time. So you stack your team and spend the last 8 weeks satisfying Dad. Happens every year. No need to worry. When the kids find out what school ball is like, they are too tired of the game to really care about playing anymore.

Jethro and Sarah,
I dont have a kid in the league so you'll have to help me understand.
How will having one league help? If you limit it to X amount of kids, you leave a lot of kids in town that dont get to play. If you take all that sign up, you have to have more than one team in each age group. Will that work in your league? Do other teams in your conference ( or whatever you call it) have more than one team in each age group?
You only need 1 organization with multiple teams, then those teams play each other. Seems simple unless I'm missing something. My boy will be playing in royse city for the first time this year. He has played in Wylie on the competitive teams and then last year on the city teams. He had more fun by far last year than any other year. But then again, the coach last year wasn't playing favorites with his boy or any of the others.

First of all Royse City Black is in Tri County....
I dont know if this is a good thing or a bad thing.
Good for us people on the Gold team so we dont have to have that level of competition with one of our own home teams! but i dont see how Gold will face any new challanges cause the teams that are being played are not that big and Gold just sweeps them away on points. There needs to be 2 teams for Royse City but done in different leagues based on different things... I Dont know how to break them up or to suggest but glad to see things finally make some kind of change. The GOLD against the BLACK was getting real tiring to deal with. Ive said all along to cheer coaches that this is about the kids. The Cheer coaches are one of the worse when it comes to the sport. The drama between the teams and the coaches etc is all about in t end... who will be whom. Gold or Black. Why cant there be real challange... a new team or new competition?

That is why I believe it should all form one youth association, create zones for more teams. If you use schools as your boundaries then you just have team name. The key is one main board made up of city leaders & business owners & parents from all teams then each zone team has its board to help each zone accomplish fundraising, orders for uniforms & other supplies

The city recently hired a young college graduate as the City Parks and Recreation Director. Finally we have a definable solution.
One league, one board selected by the Director with no parents included, run by the city, for 'all city sports', funded by reasonable dues, working toward one goal in alignment with local school policies with a minimal amount of Royse City Athletic course data, such as aligned age appropriate training, that all Royse City children are playing to someday become a Royse City Bulldog. Seems very doable if the majority of the parents would just try a simple approach to do something entirely for the children.
