Really!.........you've got to be kidding me. Google it and read about it. I think this is insane with that many bullets flying around. Not to mention running is a felony but not punishable by death on the spot. This cop needs to be way off the street if not behind bars.

Quit running from the police and you won't be in this position.

That's true but still way beyond excessive force.
I have the highest respect for police officers and even some in family but I think just like all professions some people just don't need to be in that job profession.

So if you have family in law enforcement, you know there's more to the story. Why are you judging this officers actions before the investigation is done, based solely on what you've learned from the media? Seems shortsighted no? I'm not saying it won't come out that he is wrong, but making uninformed statements based on a media who sensationalizes everything is as irresponsible as they are.

No doubt there is more to this story, no doubt you are most likely law enforcement as well. 41 shots kinda says it all for this guy. No question that the victim did the wrong thing. I don't think i've ever even fired 41 shots at the gun range.

It'll take me at least 50 shots for me to even hit any target, lol, no doubt I'm not in law enforcement. Lucky for society :)

If you don't shoot 41 times at the range, you're probably not safe/proficient with a gun and shouldn't own one. Just sayin'!

41 seems like a lot but until all the information comes out we should not condemn the police officer or the shootee for that matter. Keep in mind, a gun fight is not like you see on TV. In fact most police related shooting are in a ten foot range. This one appears to be way out of the category.

The city doesn't pay for my "rounds".
In the beginning I fired more rounds at the range but when I learned the in's and out's of my 45 it became more focused and close range. Like a tune up I guess

I'm guessing you are a police officer, but can't believe you are justifying shooting so little to protect your life. Maybe if this guy practiced more (big assumption), he wouldn't have to have shot 41 times. Maybe. Either way, thanks for what you do and stay safe out there. Who knows, maybe we do or will back each other up.

P.S. get rid of the .45

OK, just to point out something in response to the "media" "sensationalizing everything" (and truth be told the Dallas television stations have been known to blow things WAY out of proportion in the past), but the information referenced in this post came directly from the Garland Police Department itself:

http://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/Police-Offic...

So, blame the "media" if you want, but they were just reporting on what the officer's own department had said.

I think most of us care when a life has been taken. If you or I ran it would be a felony with a year to 18 months for first offense and not a hail of bullets I would hope.
When we were kids watching a street race the police would show up and everyone would scatter as they wanted. Today, driving away is running and a felony. Does that give the right for someone to shoot at you?

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Virgo

You have energy to burn today and it needs positive outlets, otherwise you'll be rather ratty and impatient. You want to work on activities that will show you in a good light, and you'll be annoyed if anyone objects to what you're doing or points out where you're going wrong. If you've been nursing a secret passion for someone, the frustration will really get to you.
