This is just an accident waiting to happen. I've never thought that TXDOT was very smart in their designs, but when you get on 30 on the west bound ramp by McDonalds, you enter that ramp and you are ON the hwy. There is no room to merge into traffic. If there is an 18 wheeler coming that either cant get over or wont get over, your screwed. Wonder how many accidents are going to happen here before its all done. I've told my teen driver NOT to get on the hwy here, to go on down and get on in Fate. Why the underpass to connect Erby Campbell?? Just so we can get Walmart to build? Or was that totally TXDOT's decision?

Maybe she's not ready to drive. Been here most of my life and have never had issues. Was she parent "taught?"

I am guessing this is new due to the "construction." What are they doing there anyhow?

Husker-n-RC,

If Maybe has lived here almost all their lives, they don't get out much.

Yes, its due to the construction, and they have shortened that ramp with the concrete barriers they have added.

I have been driving for over 30 years and hate that new ramp, as do several people I have talked too.

And "Maybe", my son was not parent "taught" he went to a driving school.

Husker, they are making an underpass that will connect Erby Campbell from one side of 30 to the other, where they will be building the Walmart.

You can always tell a weak argument when people add things like "as do several people I have talked too."

If they did, why do you need to post it on here. Maybe they need more experience so they don't hurt themselves or others.

The point was in there opinion the entrance ramp is too short. Vehicles top the hill on I-30 in that location and that ramp is right in close proximity. If there is heavy traffic is will be difficult to merge onto the freeway no matter what experience you have as a driver.

I ask why when a parent post a valid concern do people like you have to post a rude and uncalled for comment? Are you always this negative of a person or just an ass?

The ramp is the same as always. They took away the shoulder.

And not room to escape if heavy traffic which proves the point. Thank you!

It is what it is. You all knew it was coming and it would be a inconvience. Figure out how to work with it. If you dont like it go down to next ramp.

Here's why...because no one can drive around here. There too busy on their phones, putting on make-up, being self entitled, etc. then the blame TxDOT. That's why!

This on ramp is horrible!!!! Just wait! When you stop in front of me cause your too scared to get on the hwy. I will be accelerating behind you in a 10,000 pound work truck and push you into oncoming traffic!!!! This scenario has come REALLY close to happening twice now!!! BE SMART!!!! If your scared!!! Keep driving to the next on ramp!!!! If you don't?!, don't just worry about what's in front of you. LOOK BEHIND YOU!!!!!

Please be careful and god bless you cause someone is likely to die at this on ramp!!

That's the reason many stopped posting because a$$ wipes are rude and just won't shut the FU!

I forgot about Walmart - or just assumed it would never happen. I am glad there is progress. However, the ramp situation is bad and will only get worse once the work down the road begins as that will more or less cut off the alternate of driving to the next entrance. There was already at least one accident in the construction area that stopped traffic and backed it up on I-30 and the side roads. They need to take another look at the zone layout otherwise we will be seeing a lot more accidents. You cannot prevent all accidents but they need to lessen the possibilities.

You just described every person in the USA. This is not a valid argument. I personally don't have a problem with the shortened entrance ramp. Basically this all comes down to people simply don't like change. After a couple of weeks the topix post will be about another change people don't like.

You forgot about Walmart? Really? They need to examine you to ensure you are able to drive.

Why? It has been "coming soon" for over five years.

Utilities have been playing in the dirt over there on and off for three years. Again, no reason to assume it had to do with Walmart.

Actually the right lane shifts onto the end of the ramp making the ramp shorter.
