HOW LONG WAS LAST WEEK'S SESSION? During the week of Dec. 27-31, the House met for a total of six hours and 34 minutes while the Senate met for a total of six hours and 36 minutes.

What pressing issues! Glad that the Lunenburg Liberal Caucus campaigned on this being a full time job!

Not bad for a part-time job at more than $61,000 a year. To think they they gave up a 5% pay raise of $300.00.What a shame....... At least they can continue tapping the Gas Tax to suppliment their income. Maybe the other accounts also. Isn't Taxachusetts great??????????

Need to cut back much more on salary. I agree that these guys have way too much money and not enough business in the legislature to make it worth while for the people of Massachusetts to pay their exorbitant salary. Half the stuff they pass is nonsense. The taxpayers are being screwed once again. When are they going to address the fact that there is a $2 billion shortfall? The taxpayers should fire the legislators and put the money from their salaries towards the deficit.

They should have cut the daily allowance that is paid for going to work. Most people don't get paid for the drive to work. What is the perk,$125 per day or something?

percent wise, the waste of time by by Speaker DeLeo to get fat earmarks for his racino friends in the past 2 years,is the largest waste of House time.

months of time wasted on casinos that acomplished nothing.

DeLeo wanted slot parlor licenses with no public bidding.

and State money for race horse breeders.

subsidies for the hobby of the rich.

no bid on public contracts, the commerce clause of the US Constitution?

the amount of time wasted to cater to the vanity of the Speaker.

What a joke this state is. Patricks big announcement of a whopping .5% cut in legislature salaries amounts to a whopping $65,000 annually. That should really help the $2 BILLION DOLLAR debt the State is facing. Good thing he gave all these legislatures a healthy 5.5% pay raise in 2009 when most people were taking cuts in pay or losing their jobs. The fact that a state legislature in MA makes 61K/year is a joke in itself when legislatures in NH make an annual salary of $100.

The MA Legislature is one of the highest paid in the nation, and holds sessions the longest also.

They also do the most damage to the tax payers in their state than any other state. We have more insane laws than all 49 other states put together.
