Im stuck on Amtrak's train 52, we are sitting in Fred'berg Va, been here since 7:30 am , they (the train crew) say we will be sitting here until 12noon to 3pm. I guess the airlines can not keep you on a plane but the railroad can

I work at quantico next to the tracks very close to where the derailment happened. An amtrack is passing by going very slowly but moving.

Sounds like the FRA needs to come around and do another visit. No wonder the profits are up, lack of maintenance.
The people at Rockets Landing last few weeks narrowly missed a morning wake up call when they derailed propane tank cars just across the street from them. Instead of blaming the derailment on the true cause defective switch they blamed it on vandalism.

Disgruntled employees like "the conductor" could be another reason for a derailment?

Obviously you don't know anything about railroading with a comment like that.

i was on the clean up crew that moved the cars out of the way to help get the track back in service.
the derailment was caused by a "heat kink" in the track. the reason for taking so long to get the tracks up and running is because we had to remove the cars with kid gloves due to a wetlands on one side of the tracks that we or the railroad didnt want to get any coal in. also we had a high pressure gas line about 25ft away from the tracks full of jet fuel buried only about three feet under ground.
the derailment was not caused by a switch, there wasnt one close enough by to have even been remotely considered as a cause.

the truthhurts must be a train master hired off the streets. in other words doesn't know his *** from a hole in the ground. does nothing but lies to cover his own mistakes.

you guys need to take your crap elsewhere. A heat kink is the the cause of many derailments this time of year and there were heat advisories the day in question. Yes, lack of upkeep and maintenance has been and still is a problem. I'm sorry truthhurts but you are wrong. Disgrruntled employees would have a hard time causeing a derailment on a peice of mainline within a marine base. Besides, all T & E employees treat each other like family and would never do anything to hurt or kill each other.( Yes, I do have plenty experience as a conductor with CSX on the RFP sub so I do know what I'm talking about.)
