Does anyone know when the parade is this year. I am in charge of a group that wants to participate. I checked the borough website and there is no date posted

Cancelled due to opposition from The Church; it's a Pagan holiday encouraging devil worship ya know.

The Quakertown Lions run the parade. Last year the parade committee chairman was Tom Klee. http://www.lionsclubs.org/EN/find-a-club.php...

I was wondering the same thing about the parade; I e-mailed borough hall but never heard back. Lefties, I highly doubt "The Church" caused the parade to get cancelled especially considering the number of churches that participate in the parade. I look forward to the parade every year!!!

I completely agree. The nighttime parades were fantastic and I remember the ornate floats, when the parade was actually about Halloween and all things spooky rather than what we get now, which are advertisements and political agendas. I wonder why they did away with it?

Years ago when they decided to have it during the day, I was told that it was because of people, mostly teens, causing problems during and after the parade

Remember anxiously waiting for the end of the parade to see what the Haunted Hauler was going to be like? Kids and adults by the scores walked it in costumes. They were great parades. I agree, todays parade is nothing but advertising and politicians. However, it's nice that we still have a parade.

The former police chief found it "difficult" to get his officers to properly police the parade at night, and convinced the wimpy council to have it during the day. Another legacy of the McFadden era.

Parade is October 24 as stated above. You need to go to QNB main office for a form or if you were involved before, they will send you another form by email this year to cut costs.

When they held the parade at night ,it started getting to hard to police the route,as some groups of kids and young adults found that it was fun to pelt the bands with eggs and then run into the allies at night,to ditch the cops. windows were getting soaped, all sorts of things happened. so the schools said that they would not march unless the parade organizers did something about the problem so a decision was made to move the parade to daylight hours, harder for trouble to start when you can't hide. I do agree it was better at night but I can see the reasoning behind the move.
