So maybe. Somebody on here knows the deal. Been taking my kids there for last 5 years. Place was great. Kids loved it. Guy named Tom was running it and doing a great job. Ran like clockwork. All of a sudden he is gone and some new guy is in charge. Games get cancelled. No notice. Practice cancelled. No notice. Practices cut back. I paid expecting same set up as previous years and feel I got ripped off. Then I find out they got some big interest free loan from the boro. What goes? Also was told snack stand was a mess. Volunteers quit. Cleaning people quit. Just askin ????

They got a loan from the Boro for the building, which has long since been paid off.

Which program are you with? Travel or Intramural?

3 kids involved in both. Think this spring will look elsewhere. Was curious where the guy went that had been running it.

Straight from the club website:

Please get involved with your Soccer Club. Join us and voice your opinions, volunteer, help the kids - or just get involved.

General Club Meetings are held the 3rd Tuesday of every month 7:30PM at the clubhouse.

The people on the board running the club have been on the board and involved for years. They worked with Tom who is still involved in as a volunteer. The fact that you're on here bashing the club and speaking of leaving before going to a meeting to speak with them of your concerns tells me you have a personal beef with someone there. Your kid not make the team?

And don't say you did go because I attend every meeting as a team representative and have never heard anyone come and complain of the issues you raised. If you have any issues it sounds like a crappy coach and not a club wide issue.

And to clammy hands, the club is in very good financial position. There are no concerns about the club closing or cutting back on any programs.

Just got a recent email that the price for intermural has been raised from 60$ to 90$. 90$ for the first child, 85$ additional. That's a bunch of BS!

I also heard that it was in financial trouble. And to the other smart as$. No point in going to a meeting where I have no input into the financial workings So I should come volunteer to clean the toilets and put away the hot dogs for free after paying $$$. No way.

Too bad is isn't a RT issue you could secure a long term low interest loan from RTWA like RASA.

oh by the way. I guess your financial status would be great since your sitting on a big fat interest free boro loan. All on the tax payers nickel.

The program is not in toruble. The fees are going up so the top kids can do more tournments and get special uniforms.

The only moms that need to clean toilets and snack stand are if you want to earn your fee assistance.

I have dealt with this organization for years and have the utmost respect. Most of the coaches and assistant coaches and parents who help out do so on a volunteer basis. We have had no less than a pleasant experience with this organization.

Sounds to me like another case of an upset parent because their child did not get the playing time they expected. Working one on one with your child can gain them incredible skills and also provide a bonding experience between parent and child like no other.

That loan was several years ago and has since long been paid off. Get over it, whiner.

All on the taxpayer's nickel? Aren't the parents of the players taxpayers?

oh I am so sorry I forgot that each and every tax payer in the quakertown taxing jurisdiction belongs to that soccer club and is reaping the benefits. Get real bud!

Not every taxpayer gets benefit out of every program when they pay taxes. It's just the way it works. Of course, you could look at it as a program that will develop kids into something other than street hooligans. Which benefits everyone.

People should not comment on things they don't understand. The individuals that are involved in running the club are hard working volunteers that look out for the well being of the communities children. And the club is in solid financial shape. Even though there are increases in fees we are still a very reasonably priced club that offers a competitive and fun environment for soccer. IM prices increased $25 but you will receive $25 in Red Robin gift cards which you may keep or sell. As for the loan.... There is none.

What's shocking is how mis-informed soccermom is. It's easy to raise issues in this sort of anonymous forum. Perhaps you should show up at a meeting and offer some productive thoughts instead of whining in cyberspace. The club just got done publicly reviewing its budget which it does very year. No problems, just the same issues facing all the sports organizations based in Quakertown. If you had taken a moment to acquire facts and not supposition, your argument would likely be different. Please go and talk to humans instead of your computer screen and teach your kids how to resolve issues properly.

Again real people taking their personal time to do something for the community. Some of these dedicated people don't even have children who play soccer but yet they're there mending fields, preparing the schedules, stocking the snack stand. And yes miss soccermom we need parents to help and participate in a measly 1/2 hour snack stand duty which is a heck of a lot less time than other sports require.

Again, they just publicly reviewed the budget which includes reviewing the previous year or two. No money is missing...no money was stolen. Those are facts. Another fact is the rest of you on here are an embarrasing example of how our species is devolving instead of evolving. Morons.
