Does anyone remember the name of the little restaurant/drive-in at the corner of Thatcher and Old Bethlehem Rds. in Haycock? They used to have a little miniature golf area set up there. They also great pork BBQ sandwiches!
I have to laugh about you mentioning the pork BBQ Sandwiches because before I could drive my older sister used to take me out there for them, they were the best pork BBQ sandwiches. Also the Haycock riding stables were up the road and we used to go horseback riding there.

I do remember the News Agency being there and I went past the skating pond tonight and it appeared to be up and running. Also, does anyone recall when the Memorial Day services were held in Union Cemetary. Surely sombody from the band or scouts remembers entering the cemetary.

I think that was a bank...not sure which one. Who remembers the beer store on 2nd street/Apple Alley?
I remember the beer shop on Apple Alley. Joe Sheetz ran it and it was orginally his father-in laws, Paul Moyer. Remember Harr's beverages on third street before it moved to Route 309 (Now Frank's).

I worked at the Seafood Shanty as a busboy in the mid 80's, I think the club was the Midnite Rose or someting like that. That was afetr I worked there.

Another reply--- The grocery which is Boyers was originally the A&P which was the original anchor for that center, and it had moved from across the street building which is now Tana Kaya (previously stadium sports, "Big" Gibsons Decorating, Sears, Army Navy in 75-85ish,and others can't remember)...This is fun!!!!!! How about the THIS N THAT SHOP!!!-smoke bombs and caps.... NEES CRAFT SHOP for glitter for the friday nite f-ball game....

Does anybody remember Johnny Smoll's sports shop where (I think) Urban Male was. If you went out for Little League and sold 10 booster tickets Mr. Smoll would give you a baseball. Also, remember when UGI was on Broad (In front of the burned out stove works) then moved to Broad and 14th?
Yeh but before that SMOLLS was in the old NEW YORK STORE. My wooden louisville slugger cost $9.00

Wow I remember the Scripp shop the owner had a dog in there for some reason, I seem to remember. Also I remember being a really small kid climbing what seemed like enormous stairs to go up to David Crystal for jeans or something.

My grandfather used to be driver for David Crystal way back when! I believe they distributed Izod if I remember correctly!

It was the Script Shoppe. I had to go there years ago for one of those velcro "shoes" to wear over a cast on my foot.

You are absolutely correct. We'd go in there for the Sunday paper after church. I haven't been down there lately, but does Charlie Brader still run the Palace Barber Shop?(Palace, as in Palace Theater, where Dimmig's is now. It used to be in one of the two front rooms of the store. The other front room was a travel agency.

Sears wasn't there...It was Monkey Wards! Sears was originally in the Plaza, then they moved to the new Country Square shopping center along with their catalog store!

As I posted earlier, after the A&P, it was IGA, then Boyer's.

We used to get our Christmas trees from Kurt, the owner. Then firewood later on in the 70's.
