What about all of the so called "art", the rusty looking root monstrosities popping up all over California Rd.
You would think the artist's imagination could think of something else but roots.
he is a FAMOUS sculpture, and one of his "root" sculptures now resides at ground zero...they commissioned him to do it...

Those root sculptures are incredible. Anyone who has done fabrication can appreciate the workmanship in each piece. I wonder how they move these monsters.

Again, here's a suggestion - why don't you offer to mod a Center Valley-Upper Saucon Twp. Patch forum and focus on 18034 instead of worrying about what happens in a place where you don't actually live?

If you have time to hang around on here, you have time to run a community website for your own town that would actually be a positive contribution rather than constantly running down our area.

Thank you! I'm sick of LCR bashing anything and everything in this town.

Well, everyone - they've always said that you can't fix stupid. Here's the case that proves it.

The Bush House is a "major thing?" The Qmart has been part of this community for decades and actually draws people here to spend their money.
What "junkyard" are you referring to? The highway that funnels trucks through town, which one, 309 or 313. A plan was created decades ago to bypass the center of town, but it never passed.
309 is a state highway that cuts through Coopersburg and Montgomeryville too. The issue with heavy traffic is the unsynchronized lights on 309 in Richland Township and Quakertown Borough.
And the sewage treatment plant. What are we supposed to do with waste; pump it directly into the Tohickon Creek? That was a stupid comment!
If you cannot admit to the problems, then how will they ever get solved?

my husband and i both grew up in quakertown. i would never raise my children here. it went from our generation, not too long ago, always being outside, and running around (causing mayhem sometimes yes), but anybody from our day and age will agree that things in that town got worse, and quite fast. it is scary. you wont see as many children outside. and if you pay attention to the recent deaths in the younger generation, heroin is the big new thing in that area. being as a woman from there, and was lucky enough not to get sucked into all of its horrid ways, i would bash my hometown anyday. its the upper classman in the town that have the upper hand. if you are middle class or below, and growing up in this town, you would know exactly what i am talking about. and if you dont, consider yourself one of the lucky few.

as i wish i could do something to 'help' my hometown, it is beyond that. and once the train connecting philadelphia to quakertown to allentown? it will just continue to worsen. argue if you may, but im sure many would agree. again, i grew up here my whole life, and wish that i could tell my children, grandchildren, friends, about a nice childhood in a nice hometown, but it is a joke. yes, better then allentown or philadelphia, but it will get there if society there keeps declining as it has been.

My wife could not have said it better! My siblings and parents agree, also all grew up in Quakertown. Don't think its bashing considering our birth till now experience. Pretty hard to miss out on whats going on in Quakertown if thats all youve grown to know. Needless to say, we will be moving ourselves and newborn daughter to the country within the next few following months!

Husband and wife? Really? That's funny! You're both up at 1:30am posting on Topix telling the world how much Quakertown is a joke and you'll be moving in a few months...

I think we've heard this story before.

Did you move here from Jersey in 1996?

I think you did, and guess what...you are so full of crap that it's oozing from every orifice in your body.

Troll.

Go back and sit on the front stoop at the Bush House.

No, it will only bring more riff raff. Drug dealers and whoremongers will be the only ones coming to Quakertown. They will swim in our fountains and spit on our sidewalks. Before we know what hit us, we'll have a Chinatown and Little Italy. Mobsters will move in and take over the Eagle Hotel like it's a casino in Vegas. The last thing we need is rail service.

Quakertown has a lot of nice things about it. I have lived here all my life. Granted, there are some things that need to change. And drugs are EVERYWHERE! I love the people that buy houses in quakertown because it's cheaper than most areas and then bash q-town. To them I say, get the F out!

That's like saying that 'rape and murder are everywhere'. Of course they are. But when it's more than usual then extraordinary measures need to be taken.

Not admitting to problems dooms you to repeat them.
