"Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin told Fox News & Commentary that she found the card to be a bit unusual.
“It’s odd,” she said, wondering why the president’s Christmas card highlights his dog instead of traditions like “family, faith and freedom.”
so even President Obama's dog is fair game for Fox.
Nice try at a misleading edit. The criticism was not of the dog, but of Obama's "Christmas" card with no mention of Christmas.
Apparently, it's not a new tradition with BHO, not only omitting the name of the holiday, but featuring Communist dictators on Xmas ornaments. From your quoted article:

“Even stranger than that was his first year in office when the Christmas ornaments included Chairman Mao,” Palin said.“People had to ask that it be removed because it was offensive.”

"Palin even repeated the charge that the Obama’s first White House Christmas Tree included ornaments depicting Mao Tse-Tung when, in reality, it depicted Andy Warhol’s famous painting. One wonders what Palin would have thought of the Christmas Card sent out by Ronald and Nancy Reagan in 1987, or this card sent out by President George W. Bush, which barely had any indication of Christmas at all (not to mention lacking a dog). For that matter I wonder what Palin has to say about the cards her employer sends out.
Why, it’s almost like they’re just making up crap to hate the President over now. But that couldn’t be true, could it?"

Again, nice try at obfuscation using a left-wing hack website. You're right, it was Andy Warhol's famous painting - OF CHAIRMAN MAO!

a parody of mao mocking him.
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/culturemonste...

"Oh, and at the other end of Pennsylvania Avenue from the White House, the National Gallery of Art has 21 different versions of Warhol's "Mao." Twenty-one. Wait until Big Government bloggers find out about the Communist takeover of the National Gallery.

In a political era when the lunatic fringe has relentlessly caricatured the president of the United States as a pinko, an ornament-maker somewhere in America apparently thought a satirical painting of a socialist was an ideal "favorite local landmark." I can't say as I blame him or her.

"But still another layer of unwitting comedy percolates beneath the Great Christmas Ornament Scandal, which was immediately picked up by a host of hyperventilating right-wing Internet sites and blogs and then dutifully flogged into total incoherence by fair-and-balanced Fox News.

Warhol began the series in 1972 in the wake of an epochal visit to Beijing by conservative hero Richard M. Nixon.(The Watergate burglary was four months off.) President Nixon had squeaked into office on the electoral success of the Southern Strategy -- Republican efforts to use race as a wedge issue to appeal to white Southern voters. Finding a Nixon-era Mao in a White House now occupied by our first African American president seems to have shoved some folks over the edge."

as an added bonus the ornament came from previous administrations.
who knows when President Bush hung it on a tree or not.
but then again it just proves the insane length the right will go to attack President Obama.

even freedom to use a ornament on a tree mocking mao.
BTW the ornament came from previous administrations so for all you know President Bush thought it looked good on the tree.
anytime people can build a mosque and worship without being attacked by the same people who want a manger on public property let me know.
seems like freedom of religion only applies to Christians.
everyone else can have their religion attacked with impunity.

dbar,

get over it already.

Truth is people have their own personal prejudices.

And then you have those who simply "hate" others!

all races, and ethinc groups have their own prejudices. Its not just amongst whites!

I know where that mosque is. Since they moved in the neighborhood slid down hill rapidly.

You liberals failed at controlling the minds of people when it comes to being prejudice.

Prejudice doesnt not always equal hate ya know.

Liberals or no one else for that matter can control the minds of people when it comes to prejudice, that's true. Ignorance, and a lack of empathy will ensure that.

Oh so I imagine that If I dont like living next to someone who paints there home purple or next to a home that wreaks of the smell of garlic as it pours out there back window... that makes me ignorant or lacking empathy??

Well Miller if you or any of your family members live in some gated community or home owners association, I do hope you will be reminding them of how "ignorant" they are!

No Miller, not archie bunker!

Truth is youre a hypocrite.

I've met alot of folks like you.

They live in mcmansions. They feel safe and secure.

They think theyre contributing to the welfare of mankind by supporting gov entitlement programs.

Where there should be empathy for the working class poor, theres not! Hardworking folks who cant afford to live in areas where their property values arent placed in jeporady either by the force of the government(sec 8 housing) or ethnic groups with culture values different than that of most americans!

Instead you take to calling them bigots, racists, haters, rednecks. When really all that they are seeking is a nice clean neighborhood, safe place to raise their families with neighbors who share similar views...

They want the same thing u and your "gate community dwellers" do...

Call them NIMBY....
yea well so are you folks who live in "regulated communities".

and you will get on your soapbox and state you do not get anything from the government?
LOL
talk about hypocrisy.
you get benefits from government largess but seem to think that you do not.
common failure of libertarians.
attacking ethnic groups that are different and saying they do not match what most Americans want is just bigotry.
those groups want what everyone else wants.
any road you go down in your area of the woods was paid for by others.
same for police and fire protection.
what ever taxes you pay does not cover the cost so you are getting an entitlement from the government.
so you are just as guilty under your logic.
yet you live in a state of denial.

dbar, cut me a break!

I never made a personal request to have such services provided to me..
Nor did I willingly contribute to the entities providing these services..other than donations to fire comp.(by choice).

Alot of these services u speak of can be privatized, which private companies can do a better job while saving the taxpayers lots of money.

Youre big gov..and U love to suck off the teat of the taxpayers...just dont get it...
