February 18 the BOS of Richland granted the ex police chief's girl the right to have more yapping dogs at her Last Chance Ranch. This time its 50 dogs, any size. The owner of the ranch is quoted as saying she needs $500,000.00 a year to keep the place afloat, and wants to "expand in the future" and triple the budget with more donations.

Remember this when we go to the poll to elect Mr. Orloff's replacement this year.

People love dogs than they do other people. Pick another thing to complain about. This won't work.

You should have lived around there a decade or so ago when Haycock Kennels, which is right around the corner, had over 1000 beagles.

Boo hoo.

Wait...Mrs. Grim, is that you???

Great for LCR. They are out in the country. If you don't like dogs, then MOVE!!

Dogs are WAY better than people. I wish my neighborhood was filled with dogs instead of some of the people.

How heartless can you be? There are millions of homeless animals in the U.S. and the LCR is trying to help alleviate the problem. Due to irresponsible humans who don't spay or neuter their animal companion(s), or simply abandon them, shelters are full. The LCR intervenes at high-kill shelters to save perfectly healthy and adoptable animals.

See I told you.
Personally I prefer people over dogs but I know that puppies capture most people's hearts.

Shame on you for speaking badly of Mrs. Grim. You don't even live in the area ! she is a wonderful person and does care about the way LCR'S animals are poorly cared for. Part of her agenda was to make sure Lori was using the donated money on the animals and not just to build her nice big house. You try living next to where prevailing winds blow with 50 dogs barking!

I used to live right up the road from Garen Lindsay and his 1000 beagles with the prevailing winds blowing right up Apple Rd, so don't give me a sob story about 50 dogs!

Well then, according to your reply, you had to endure the noise and know how bad it is, why would you want another human being to have to suffer what you indeed went through???

I hate to tell you the reality is that there will always be irresponsible humans who don't spay or neuter, and there will always be a need for compassionate animal lovers. But, these "Rescues" need to be monitored because what happens when they get too many animals and not enough funding or volunteers to work? Then the rescue falls apart and the "Rescues" need rescuing. It happens all the time, checkout the Montana Large Animal Tragedy In 2011.
Thousands of animals were left to die because the owners lost there funding and could no longer provide for the animals feed and care. Now that's what I call Heartless!!

I kind of remember that place. Were they breeding dogs there or was it for some type of research? I don't think it was a rescue. What happened to that place and Garen? Years ago it was quite an operation. I love dogs but have no time for the shady LCR and the way they take advantage of volunteers.

LCR might have a noble cause but are the donations monitored and working for the animals?

So many former volunteers left LCR with horror stories.

Just sayin'

What's that supposed to prove? That they have paid the piper?

We got used to it and rarely noticed it. The only time I noticed it was when someone commented on it. Your brain learns to ignore things like this and trats it like background noise.

My grandmother lived next to the Septa tracks and never woke up at night when the train blew its horn while crossing the road.

They raised beagles for research. He had over 1000 dogs in the pole barn at the rear of the property.

As for Garen, his ex wife, Alice, said he took off with his new sugar mamma. The place looks like hell now and it's up for sale.

I don't know why you are talking about me like this. I LoVe the Last Chance Ranch and I believe they are doing a fantastic job for the animals. They take them in, care for them then adopt them to wonderful families. The barking is at a minimum and is not an issue.
Please stop talking badly about the wonderful, non-profit rescue.
