Require all gun owners to have a yearly inspection of their firearms to prove they still have them and didn't lose or sell them to a criminal. They have to be taken to a registered gun shop and entered into a database. If you don't bring your gun in for inspection it's an automatic jail sentence.

So it's ok to be forced to get your car inspected every year but not a gun that can kill people. I forgot this is quakertown land of the redneck gun nuts and pickup trucks.

No matter what you tell a gun nut everything is nuts to them when it comes to gun control.

Good luck with your gun "protection" when you get hit by a drunk driver or an idiot driving on a call phone. The odds of getting killed those ways are way higher than needing a gun. Yet you gun nuts don't drive a hummer or do anything to protect yourself on the road. You take the risk driving.

You can't protect your family from an invading army or a government turned sour with a car. Little by little your rights have been chipped away but your not fully awake to realize it First its a dog license. Then a car inspection. Then an income tax. Then a local tax and a tax on the local tax. Soon it will be a restriction on your ability to travel. Your ability to choose how many children you want to have. Maybe more restrictions and rules for the good of the "PARTY". Maybe then when it's too late you will understand the true gun issue !!

Enslavement sometimes starts our slow. Bit by bit. Take away the tooth picks. Well we can live without tooth picks Then its the spoon. Well we can use the fork. Then the knife. Well we can use out teeth to cut the food Then the food is rationed. Your hungry. But your guns have been taken away and your weak and tired and can't fight back. The bad men who have control of the food also have the guns. RUSSIA 1919.

I like guns and enjoy learning about them, your idea isn't bad, a little intense with the jail sentence but how hard is it to show up and show that you still have what your suppose to, and about the hummer... They kinda suck in a crash, I work with smashed cars all day and they don't fare too well in an accident

Why does every argument have to jump to extremes? I have 12 guns in my house, all are locked up and registered, it's not a big deal

Germany had mandatory gun registration in the 1930's. How'd that work out?

Registered where though? It's illegal to have any government agency register a gun in PA.

Unless it's a fully-automatic weapon, in which case, a U.S. citizen can apply for a federal permit by contacting the ATF.(Forms are available online.) For each gun it costs about $200 and takes about six months to complete. You must then carry the permit and a valid ID (like a state-issued ID card or drivers license.)

Who told you it's illegal to register a gun?
