Glad to hear things are moving forward. Some members in our church said they heard you are near closure and that all parishioners were notified. Good luck with your Fall event.

The letter that went out to the Parishoners stated that we are in a dire situation and that we need to pull together if we have a chance of saving the church. Closing is definitely a last resort and one I hope we can avoid.

Guess things are getting worse sorry to hear. Announced in our church that monthly dinner held there is not going to start this month because of some issues that have to be addressed including finding a new church to host the dinners. How sad this has been a great outreach for Quakertown. Our church loved helping with dinners and is eager to help get this moving forward. Ashame for those in need and also for Emmanuel for the situation they are in even though rumor is that those in charge like the direction the church is moving in.

Shame about the Morning Star mega-church taking all your business. They take in all the drunks druggies & pros without judgement so they were obviously going to get more clientele in this town.

Isn't that what a church is suppose to do? Not be judgemental. Plus I don't think we took their members if so not many that I know of because I'm on the welcoming group at MS.

I couldn't agree more with this. I am happy to see that Morning Star is doing well and hope the same growth with be bestowed upon the Parish of Emmanuel. As I stated in previous posts, there are alot of exciting activities coming up for us. We have our Quarterly Blood Drive on Monday, September 10th (walk-ins welcome, our 23rd Annual Auction on Saturday, October 13th, the weekend long 125th Anniversary Celebration from Friday, November 2nd - Sunday, November 4th. During the celebration we will have a Car Show on Saturday, from 10-1 and we will be collecting can goods at the church and at (2) of the local grocery stores from 9-11 (locations TBD). The church will be open from 9-3:30 for anyone to come and take a walk through and find out about the church's history. They will close the evening with a Masquerade Party from 6-9. All are welcome. In addition, our Annual Basket Bonanza will be held, Saturday, December 1st.

Unfortunately, the Bread of Life has decided not have the dinners at Emmanuel anymore. I understand they will start them back up, just not sure when.

This really couldn't be further from the truth, so please don't post lies. The leadership of the church tries to work with the leadership of the Bread of Life to try and come to a mutually beneficial arrangement. Don't blame the church because BOL didn't want to budge.

Is the problem that you have no place to hold the dinners?
This is something Christ Church U.C.C. might be willing to do, we are looking to have our building used more to help out the community.
If so please call the church & leave a message for Pastor Barbara Moran, you can tell her Aimee suggested it :o)

Checked it out myself. Was not worth getting out of my car and being cold, only about five cars there. Guess thats why it was not advertised.

Yes, the celebration did happen this past weekend. Unfortunately, the car show did not bring the participation we were hoping for. A lot of the car owners that were expected, were impacted by the storm and were unable to attend. We did have a very nice weekend celebration. I'm sorry you missed it.
