What is brewing in our beautiful town?

I am hearing rumors about municipal employees keeping their city jobs.

I am hearing rumors about business being kicked down to relatives of aldermen.

As well as elected officials kicking city business to their own personal businesses. I do not know how much of it is true, and am asking anyone who has names and specifics to please provide them.

Is it true that one of the board members who voted against the Wet vote is also the owner of two liqour stores just outside of our town?

Has anyone else heard that while we have raised the funds to build the Skate Park, the city council has no intention of building it?

How much is true? How much is rumor? Does anyone know? Anyone heard anything more specific?

No ordinance they write to try to make such conflicts of interest legal can change that fact, nor would any such ordinance survive a challenge within the State Supreme Court.

We all know that. So why are we not hearing about inquiries from one of our state's senators to the state attorney general on the very subjects I listed above?

It is of great concern to know that something is going on that is bad enough that someone would threaten the health and safety of one of our town's Aldermen and his family.

I'd bet it's all true. When I was in Harrison, it was nothing but a good ol' boys network. I'm glad I left and I plan to NEVER live there again -- EVER!

I know the Alderman that was threatened and I know that that much is true, and the senate inquiry. I have copies of the response from the state attorney general to the senator.

There is no way to know how Crockett voted on the wet/dry issue unless he told someone, and I doubt he would do that.

I was told to get the financial paperwork through the Freedom for Information Act on the city govt spending but I don't even know where to go to request this.

If you are in Harrsion it will be complicated. You will have to know the correct title of the document and request it in person through the appropriate govt body. Harrison city hall, and maybe Little Rock. Harrison doesnt do anything of substance online. I would go into shock if they volunteered the information for the time/date of a council meeting.

--- Crockett is a cold hearted businessman and I for one don't care for the man. He'll do whatever pleases him and his interests only - even at the expense of our town.

He doesnt even own the liquor store anymore they sold it so i doubt he would care one way or the other about wet or dry! he hasnt owned quicker liquors in well over 2 years!

What is the issue with the land? Its nothing more than an old unused parking lot.
