It IS a 'big' deal. The subject is Marion County right now, not 'all' over.

Would it be a 'big' deal to you if some meth head
drove into you or robbed you for his meth supply?
Or got your kids stoned?

My point is that, do You have influence over it?, you have tried to change it. You have said that Marion county law enforcement does nothing about crime and how bad it is. Your previous comments on Marion county has branded you as a complainer.

That is my pov

Ooooooooooohhhhh.......I've been 'branded'. OMG!
Well, I can't personally change it. Just
made the statement that it IS a big deal.

Wouldn't you think this issue would be a big complaint? And, excuse me, but I'm not the only
one who has made note of the fact that law enforcement is a bit slackin'.

I think you have on rose colored glasses and can't accept it when anyone has anything bad to say. If you don't like my opinion of things, just read the local newspaper about crime. I didn't
have any influence on those facts.

The point being the ratio of meth lab busts to the population is a concern. The percentile of yellville residents robbed and etc...is of concern.

good because only with residents that plan on staying and fighting for a safe town does this or any town stand a chance.

I think the major point should be that drug related crime is not the only crime going on in this county and that Sheriff Vickers is not looking at the big picture. From what you read in the papers it appears that is all he is interested in dealing with. As a law abiding citizen of this county I want a more rounded Sheriff's Dept that deals with all crime not just drug crimes. Sheriff Vickers needs to leave his State Trooper attitude where it came from and do the type of law enforcement that this county needs most and that is a well rounded enforcement of the law.

Oh, so you mean you want him to look the other way so him and his buddies can get the drugs going through Yellville? Seems I heard that the old sheriff was playing that game before and the only ones that it did any good was the drug pushers and the good old boys getting their cut.

Ordinary citizens do have the power to ask the sherriff (past and present) to form a citizens group. "time for crime" are not left up to law enforcement it is the judicial system. Citizens that voice opinions & do not confront a possible compromise or solution are nothing more than "arm chair quarterbacks".
Mr.Vickers has a different style, than did Mr.McBee, but remember it is a polical office, voted on by the people."crying wolf" behind their backs isnt getting the county citizens viewpoint across, go talk with the sherriff. Im sure they would like your input and/or assistance.
Get some jobs in Marion County to get money in the hands of the people, why did all the industry move out & the drug lords move in? What did the citizens do to keep industry? Chamber of Commerse has blown the snot of the perspective of actually living there. "come live in the beautiful countyside" but on the other hand "ILL TAKE YOUR MONEY TO THE BANK & AFTER YOU MOVE HERE TRY TO MAKE A LIVING" Kind of a snydley whiplash technich that also is being tolerated and has been for decades in N.Arkansas.
If you dont like the area up there, take a 3 1/2 hr. drive & take a vacation in beautiful Pine Bluff, see if its any better.

In this economy who could afford to sell their property? The thought of moving is good but where?
