I work at trackside pizza right next to where this happened...a family eating inside, saw the woman sitting on the tracks as the train bars came down and the red lights started flashing, indicating that there is a train coming...and the lady did not move...so the father jumped up and ran out towards her and said.."you have to move a train is coming"! The woman then jumped up and stood right in the middle of the track with her hands at her sides...she committed suicide...I went out and looked at the tracks about 7 hours after the accident...her body was cut in half..there was still blood all over...and by the way...an 11 year old girl seen the whole thing happen..and she is tramatized...it's so sad!

Does anyone know who this woman was? Couldn't anyone pull her off the tracks? I drove by right afterward and heard from the clerk at 7-11 that it was suicide and that there were several witnesses. Why, for God's sake, did know one lunge her off the track?

I was on the train and she came to rest directly under where I was sitting in the dining car. You could feel exactly what was going on under the car. Horrible experience.

I was on the train, too. It was just horrible. Her purse, and notebook were right outside our window.
To ask someone to pull her off the tracks is asking for more tradegy.

We were on the train too. Everyone was quite upset. We could see people racing outside to try
to talk her off the track, so to say no one helped
her is not accurate at all. No one should feel morally obligated to pull someone off the tracks
when a moving train is headed straight for them.
That is absolutely rediculous.

I am so sorry for everyone who had to experience this. I know the woman and her family well. It is a tragedy that should not have happened. Please pray for her and her family.

I believe everyone on that train was deeply concerned for her and her family. You should pass
along that the conductors, and emergency personnell were incredibly professional, being
compassionate and respectful during the entire situation. Anything the family can pass along to those of us on board that train would be appreciated as we are left wondering why she would
do something like this that has such a huge impact
on all those involved.

I believe this woman is my mother. I'm only 18, and she was only 45. Police showed up at my Father's house sometime in the evening, at that time I wasn't home. I came home around 3am the next morning when my Father told me my Mother had commited suicide after drug over-usage. He told me she was hit by a train. I'm still grieving. People please do not post false information about this, it is making me sick. Her funeral is Scheduled for noon this Thursday, the 7th. Anyone is invited. RIP Mom, I love you

To the son of the woman I am deeply sorry for the loss you and your family have suffered. We never know why or even understand why someone we love would leave this earth in such a horrible way.

My husband works right by where this occured. He came home and told me all about it, everyone working in the downtown block this occured in is just traumatized. It's terrible. A few years ago a young kid did this very thing right in front of our house here in Puyallup. Suicide is just a tragedy. I hope she can RIP now.

I am one of several women who have for the past month reached out and tried in every way we could to help Kathy get sober. It is a tragic loss to all - made even sadder - since there is hope and recovery from alcoholism and addiction. Our prayers go out to her family, children and the people involved.

When and where are the services on Thursday?

We are having a family-only service for my mother on Thursday.

As for "concerned" in Lakewood, next time you decide to do a "share-all" for something that doesn't concern you, maybe you could think about the fact that the family members of the accident might read it.
