I was forced to go into a clinic due to having Medicaid (medical coupons) and when I found out there was now a dental clinic in Puyallup, I was thrilled. The front staff was nice but the Asian female dentist who worked on me and the nurse/assistant who helped her were rushed, irritated with their workload, rough and a bit pissy. I had to sit with my mouth wired open for 40 minutes while the nurse hopped from patient to patient as she was the only dentist simultaneously treating 4 people. Not only did they NOT wait until I was numb before drilling away, they laughed when I started to cry. I have given birth naturally a few times now, and have a decent pain tolerance level and found the laughter insulting and heartless...a bit sadistic. THEN, one of the teeth she filled began to throb about a week later and I then immediately needed a root canal. I went to a different dentist and he was astounded at the poor job she had done filling my cavities. Now, today, I find one of her fillings from less than 3 1/2 months ago, fell out! Just fell out. I don't eat nuts or hard candy or anything sticky..and now my mouth hurts whenever I eat or drink anything. yay...I have since heard a handful of other horror stories about this place and wonder why they are still in practice. Worst of all, they treat children. I wasn't afraid of dentists until AFTER going to this clinic. My advice, go ANYWHERE else!!!

Yes, avoid them like the plague, we were there for 5 hours last week, got there at 7:45 and left at 1pm for 5 kids, yes the asian was rushed... Also on cleaning, I just got back from waiting 50 minutes in their waiting room (alone) for a 3pm cleaning, at 3:45, I let them have it... I am in sales, how could I possibly let a client wait 45 minutes without saying anything or checking on me. by the way, I arrived 5 minutes early, no many choices for those with a state medical coupon.

It appears this practice is sub-par all the way around. My issue was not with the doctor but with thier billing. I was given an estimate for my daughter regarding 2 simple extractions, AFTER the work was done they billed my insurance company for 2 impacted extractions, which of course was not covered under my dental coverage but my medical...at 80% and after my deductable. They charged me $350 up front which should have covered my portion of the 2 simple extractions. But after all said and done ended up costing me another $780. This is AFTER they did a consultation, so they would have know up front if they were boney and impacted. I do not know if they intentionally did this or were just incompetant...either way i would avoid this office!

Thanks for all of the reviews ! I brought my mom into the Tacoma location and they did a horrible job. Front desk people were very unprofessional they made us wait forever becouse there was only 1 dentist (yes, the Asian one *mind you I am also asian). My mom had to come in for a follow up by herself because I wasn't able to be there to translate for her. My mom understands english well enough but they treated her like a foreigner. They sent her home with her tongue cut on the side from who knows what and didn't even bother to give her any antibiotics or mouth rinse and her flipper wasn't even in all the way and they said that's the best that they can do. I called the office and demanded that she'd be seen right away and that's what happened. Never again will we going to that office again. Its too bad there's bad reviews on the other locations too =(

Just wanted to say I have been going there, not too familiar with dental practices,But the asian Dr. Did some work and my filling fell out, and she swore to me that it was completely normal for my mouth to be sensitive for months afterward. So thanks, I know now i should probably find another dentist.. good luck to all of you and your children.. thanks again

Went to the Bonney lake office this past weeek to have my teeth cleaned and some cavitites filled. Worried after reading some of your posts. All I have to say is that the staff and the dentist were great!!! I would even take my children there. I think sometime you have to realize that they only have ONE dentist to take care of many patients with different needs! One facility may have made a bad repoor but there not all like that.Thank you to the staff for your great smiles, caring and understanding attitudes..

I had a awful experience at Anzi dental and I am definitely thinking about getting a lawyer and everyone on this website should maybe do the same. I went in to have a tooth extracted. To begin with the receptionist was extremely rude. The assistant walked me back to the room. She began to tell me what not to do after the extraction. She then warned me that I should not let the doctor know if I am hurting. She said he has a tendency to stop and walk out if he thinks he is hurting you. He gave me the injections to numb me up and then said he would be back in five minutes to allow the medicine to take affect. He came back in the room less than a minute and did not even wait the five minutes that was needed to allow the meds to take full affect. He kept complaining that my tongue was not where he wanted it. I could not feel my tongue,so I really did not know what exactly my tongue was doing. He was really pissed off about this. Then he started pulling up on my tooth and I felt the normal pressure, but I started feeling pain down in my jaw. This probably due to the fact that he didn't wait the time for the numbing to take affect. Then he looked down at me and said are we going to be able to do this. He was upset, because my tongue moved around and I placed my hand on my chest. He then got up and said he wasn't going to do this and he took off his gloves and told the assistant to refer me to another place. He took off his mask and then walked out of the room. This was after giving me a crap load of shots and pullling up and on my tooth. When I called the place they referred me to. They informed me that I had to pay up front $300.00 for anesthesia which will be used at their office. I am a single mother to two young boys who have Autism. So, we do not have that kind of money to pay out of pocket. I called Anzi back to inform them of this. The receptionsit told me very rudely to call someone who can deal with my financial status. Then I informed her that my tooth was shifted and I was in pain. She told me that the doctor didn't even elevate my tooth. I told her that the doctor had been pulling on my tooth before sending me out. She was arguing with me and I asked to speak with the assistant. She then told me they did all they could do and now they were done. They did not even provide me with a prescription for the pain. They basically left me hanging and even now. They are not even acknowledging me. They were very cruel and degrading. The tooth I have that needs to come out is a absess tooth. So, it is a must to have it come out of my mouth. I have never in my life experienced such cruelty at a dentist office.

This place is a total crock!! My husband went there and not only did they do a horrible job on filling his teeth as they bruised his entire mouth for weeks, the place they referred him to for some extractions knocked out a crown and we had to pay to put a new one in. Then when they put it in, they did it wrong and it fell out three months later. Then they cemented it in only for it to fall out again. Now his tooth is too destroyed to put a crown in and he needs an implant which we have to pay for because they claim no liability. Just because people have DSHS insurance doesn't mean they should be treated like crap!!! Now my husband has to go without his front tooth because we can't afford an implant. We WILL be getting a lawyer though!!! They need to be put out of business. I urge everyone to contact the state and BBB about them.

I think that you should get a lawyer and so should everyone else who has been wronged. I would like to try and get a lawyer also. I think everyone should get together and pose a class action suit against them and put them out of business!!

It is crazy to me to hear all these bad experiences. I had a great experience with my dentist, Ann Hua. I too add to choose a state authorized dentist. I had to have an extraction done. I am pregnant and was very nervous about having dental work done. However, both the nurse and my dentist made me feel at ease, as much as one can be at the dentist that is. They were very thorough in explaining everything they were going to do. I was not numb all the way but just by lifting my left hand as they instructed, she stooped immediately and gave me more shots to insure I did not feel any pain. At one point while giving me a shot they hit a nerve which hurt so bad it made me cry. I can't imagine how difficult it must be to have to deal with patients like me that I was so nervous I was shaking uncontrollably. Both my dentist and nurse were very professional yet comforting, understanding and patient. It's sad to hear about the bad experiences others had but u will definitely be going back to have Ann Hua do any of my future dentistry.

I am simply shocked at some of the comments here. I have seen Dr. Hua in Puyallup three times now and she has been AMAZING! Whether a large job (absessed extraction) or a small cavity she has been fast and exact and SO GENTLE! Using just the right amount of anesthesia so it is completely numb where she works but doesn't numb my whole face. And her staff is SO KIND! I have nothing but praise for her, and I avoid the dentist like the plague due to anxiety and phobia from childhood dental experiences! Now, the guy at Anzi in Bonney Lake, I wouldn't let him work on my DOG'S teeth. He refused to work on my teeth when he saw my health history! I have several health issues, none that affect dental work. But he referred me to Puyallup. THANK GOODNESS HE DID! I don't mind driving the extra miles to see a GOOD dentist! ;0)

You may want to research why crowns come off. They don't come off unless there is decay under them. I am certain the dentist told you that. Also, the fit of a crown has to be perfect, so they would have temporarily cemented the crown while he summed up the finanaces for a new one...Never cemented it permenant. You just can't do that even if the patient has no money. It is not legal.
Just wanted the truth posted before you spend time and money on a lawyer. I have been in dentistry for 18+ years.

Well his dental record and x-rays show that there was no decay. Also, we had the money for the crown, even when we shouldn't have had to pay for it, so that is not the case here. They did cement it in temporarily...after the permanent one fell out, which ended up doing more damage to the tooth. The fact is they screwed up and they should own up to it!!

Again, you have no dental experience. XRAYS cannot see thru the metal of a crown. Crowns fail for a reason.

Just an FYI for y'all people!!! I had the most wonderful experience at Anzi Dental Center(s). They all have wonderful staff and doctors. It sucks that they don't accept DSHS, but most take advantage of the state and are lazy!! So get up and get a job. I understand people that really do need help, but you know that alot of people are just plain out LAZY! So a shout out to Anzi Dental Center(s) you guys ROCK!
