Wow! The end of an era if this happens.
I gotta wonder how a nursing/assisted living operation can be a greater investment for this type property( Busy Interstate location/long established hotel/inn, retaurant/bar, adequate parking etc.)than existing or similar use.My only answer is once the place is built, it is upscale and the service is good then the revenue pours in because of patient/occupant insurance coverage or Federal gov't subsidies for operations and patient support. I'm almost elderly(lol)but there has to be more to the desire for this property and it's proposed use than meets the eye.Why not buy 20 acres on River Rd.in Putney just below the old Windham field house? Maybe I'm cynical or something??

TNB I think you hit the nail on the head, why buy an existing business to knock it down? it would be more cost effective to buy vacant land, this doesn't smell right
