I have been on the department for about 6 months now. I have heard storys about the department ever since i joined. From what i can gather from those storys and how the department is doing now. Jerry Walters (Chief of LFD) has brought this department a very long way in a short time. Losing our tanker was a blow to the LFD. But i want the citizens of lumberton to know that we will do whatever it takes to perform to the best of our abilitys. To the ones who have talked bad about the department. The past is behind us. Ride out and take a look at the newly organized Lumberton Fire Department.

I think that mee does not know what they are talking about... Look at the record of the LFD of the last Year... You will find that the response time is ALOT faster and the department has more certified firefighters than ever before.. and there has been NO structure fires since November in Lumberton..

That goes to show how much some people know. Ohlo doesn't come to Lumberton fires. They aren't even in the same structure group. Some of these post don't even qualify for a response.

This tanker cut has hit us exteamly hard, and I dont know what to think about several of these comments but the Volenteer is the big word here not many people volenteer to save the lives of others. Not many people would get up out of there beds on the days that they have to work to go save a structure or even a life.. And thats what they do.! And as far as there being nothing left but the slab your very greedy to gripe about nothing but the slab being there your lucky you didnt loose your life maybe you should stop looking at the negative side and begin to look at the positive. At least you have your life and your family. You were the one in need of asistance not lvfd.
