If she has a public defender, she might as well plead guilty. I have a friend who was wrongfully accused of waving a gun at a woman here in Nashville. Even though a extensive and exhaustive investigation discovered no weapon ever existed, the state still sought a conviction against him. He wasn't able to afford an attorney so, he was provided two different public defenders then, a court appointed attorney. The only thing these frauds did was coerce him into accepting a plea bargain. I don't know about public defenders or court appointed attorney's elsewhere but here in Tennessee, they are frauds and jokes.

I strongly disagree with many of the comments above. The truth hurts and if you want the TRUTH, Gysgt King was an outstanding man, Marine, father, and husband. And he was killed because of ONE persons trigger finger AND THREE bystanders who encouraged the situation. He was not the “type of person some may refer to as TRASH” that would hang out with other people committing crimes or harm to other people. The woman, Leslie, is grown and my God, as an adult and MOTHER, shame on her for putting drugs and young boys first. Hopefully she will learn from her irresponsible behavior. She deserves to sit in jail- a soft consequence for her careless selfish actions. I personally believe those boys should have the death penalty. I am not a Christian, nor am I an atheistic. I am a reasonable, LOGICAL, good human being that knows logically, there are consequences for your actions. If that woman did learn that by now...? Well, obviously she didn’t otherwise she would not be rotting in jail. She needs to be held accountable for her actions, ESPECIALLY by her loved ones: mother, daughter, etc. THAT is the definition of a TRUE CHRISTIAN. It’s more than forgiveness. It’s improving the people in your Christian family by holding them accountable for their actions- not by making excuses. Gysgt King saved many lives while he served and he took care of his Marines and ANYONE around him. One year, I didn’t have money for a Thanksgiving Dinner...he bought Thanksgiving dinner to my home and family, and hungry kids. HE, GYSGT KING, was a TRUE Christian. And LESLIE helped illuminate him from the world, just by association. No, no, I will never forgive her...

To "uknowho"...Your mom made a lot of mistakes?! lol A mistake is speeding, running a red light, etc.... helping others is commission of a fn MURDER!?..thats not a mistake. Its a display of lack of character and basic morals that any "normal" member of our society has. Your mom IS white-trash. As far as being judgemental...I think when someone helps with a murder then its PRETTY DAMN FAIR TO JUDGE THEM! Trash. And I am not one of your whore mothers past boyfriends, but from the other postings and even your own comments I gather she had MANY. Big suprise coming from someone of her upstanding citizenship and stature in her community(crackhead). As for you personally, I undersstand you are gonna support your mother no matter what, but her life is, for all intents and purposes, OVER. Even if she gets out of prison quickly, she will NEVER have a decent job(ask any convicted murderer) she will never have the respect from anyone, and she will in all likelihood just end up back in prison again or OD'd on drugs(at least we can hope) Fuck your mom. Hope she rots and I'd say you will probably meet the same fate someday. Trash breeds trash. Sad but true.

-there are no perfect people . you learn from the situation and do better.any out there thinks they are perfect and free from error are the real criminals.i hope she will get the lord in her heart and beat this and live to do right by the word from now on . everyone can be forgiven for their sins.he saw to that .
You hope she "beats" this?! I think the best thing she could do, if she's truly sorry for her actions, is to accept her role in ths(whatever that may be) and face the consequences of her actions...and THEN she can go about living a better life. But honestly, I just hope her life sucks from here on out and she suffers tremendously. Does that make me an evil or bad guy?,.. I dont care if it does.
