So, the "rumors" were true. The worker's wife killed her daughter and then tried to kill herself.
Why were some of you bitching about "lies" and "facts"?

It is so hard to believe. The court of law will decide. For the family, the fellow classmates, teachers and volleyball team and friends, the only thing that matters is the loss of Marissa. The loss of one person feels like ones whole world has perished. Jewish tradition teaches that "if a person saves one life, it is as if the whole world has been saved. And, if a person destroys one life, it is as if a whole world had been destroyed." The death of Marissa will have profound implications for all. We must pray for the repose of her soul and search to find meaning in her loss.

The Washington Post published a photo of the mother. Pure speculation but I would not be surprised if she had a history of mental health problems--possibly, post-partum depression following the birth of her second child.
