Lady Madonna wrote: But what is the solution to stop this crime wave? First of all people need to stop being in denial of whats been going on. Whats to be done? There is many solutions, I believe the first one starts at home with the parents. Most of the crime is being committed by teenagers according to the police. There are curfews, after speaking to many parents they had NO clue there was a curfew. The parents in Loudoun county need to start getting involved and stop relying on the police and the school system to do their jobs. START POLICING YOUR OWN KIDS!!!! Lets not start with its not my kid syndrome! Making your community aware of how bad the crime situation is could help. Showing people proof, letting them read the black and white will wake them up. Took me months to get through to the people on my street, if it wasn't happening directly on our street they didn't care. If you have been following the police reports you would have read 3 suspects have been caught. All 3 are being detained by ICE. This might be a good piece of information on who is doing this. Stay informed aware and passing along your information to others is always helpful. Stay safe...... Peace

I cant believe I moved here thinking it was a safe environment and the people the residents who IM sorry lied its not a safe place to live. How many residents were not robbed in the last 2 yrs? Not one Ive recently spoke to. All this was leading to what has happened next.

I was a little surprised that someone responded to this thread. I read your other posting and decided to respond to this one, seeing that it seems to upset someone. Sorry for all you had to go through, being robbed is a bit unsettling. On the brightside you did make a good investment. There is a few good people in your community that want the same as you, and then theres the people who want you to do it for them. My advice would be for you to get invovled demand for a better HOA & more police protection. As for the trees blocking the lighting, DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO!! The recent police reports crimereports.com have been more of the same with more assaults added to it. Nobody wants to get involved with the HOA. Get involved gather people for the HOA meetings show some presences. Glad this helped you out. I hope everything works out for you, Good luck. Peace

An AMW News Update Report: On August 5, 2008, cops in Leesburg, Va. were dispatched to an address in the area after someone called 9-1-1 and hung up before stating their emergency. When police arrived, they were met with a sad and troubling situation. In fact, according to police, the woman who'd placed the 9-1-1 call was so upset by what had happened that she'd been unable to speak to the emergency operator and had to hang up the phone. Cops say the woman had left her children at the house with 21-year-old Carlos Felipe Centeno, a person she trusted, while she went out to do some quick errands. Police have charged him with Forcible Sodomy but Centeno is nowhere to be found. What No Child Should Experience, And No Mother Should See But when the woman returned home, she couldn't find Centeno or her 5-year-old daughter. Cops say she began searching around the house, and when she went upstairs, she made a horrifying discovery -- Centeno had no clothes on and was standing over her daughter. Neighbors say that Centeno "felt like raping and molesting American girls and others like him" and could not believe that this would happen to their children. Cops say Centeno slammed the door shut and then emerged fully clothed, telling her it was all just "a big misunderstanding" and that nothing sexual had happened. Then, cops say he left the house. But police say it was clear something sexual had happened, and the little girl eventually revealed that Centeno had, in fact, sexually assaulted her. Police have charged him with Forcible Sodomy but Centeno is nowhere to be found. During their investigation, police learned that Centeno is from El Salvador and was in the U.S. illegally. Cops say Centeno has family there and may be attempting to return home. Unfortunately, the only photos cops have of Centeno are outdated -- one from when he was approximately 15 years old, and another in which cops don't know his age. According to police, Centeno left the house on the day of the alleged assault on a blue Magna bicycle, wearing a grey T-shirt, blue jeans, and white tennis shoes. Police are hoping someone recognizes him and comes forward with information that will help put Centeno behind bars.

Peace I have seen more police patroling in and around exeter. From what Im hearing and seeing on crimereports.com is theyre stopping anyone whos out after 10pm. It seems to be working saw one myself on my way home from work around 12pm on Plaza st. We all hope they can keep this up. My concern goes beyond just my neighborhood one of my robberies occurred in the outlets. Its still shocking the amount of crime that goes on here. Just about 600 crimes for the last 30 days so far. Thats still a lot for Leesburg. Thx for the advice I work nights would join a meeting if I could. I did several times call property mangement to make suggestions and ask questions. Also asked if a board memeber could call me, never heard from anyone. sorry if I caused some unrest here bringing up an old thread. Didnt think that anyone would have a problem with helping stop the crime. Thanks again

Why wasn't this persons family contacted by the police? Why didnt they call the LPD??? What are they hiding from? What would make you think an ASSUALT would be headline news? Its an everyday occurance in Leesburg especially in your area. When I found this assault on crimereports.com , did you NOT notice the other 20 within steps of your home? So what would make this so different? If you were so concerned why didnt you call the local hospitals? There is no secret place to get information I was just well aware what was going on around me. Also LPD use to have the reports on their website. This all might sound mean but Im looking at it like its a lesson to be learned. Thank goodness this crime wasnt taken any further. I do not wish bad upon others, I really hope she is alright. If you want to live in a safe place GET INVOLVED!! Look around NOTICE turn the thugs in!! Ignoring crime does not make it go away. Peace
