Southwest will be just fine at both cities Both IAD and BWI serve 2 different markets. IAD is for those who live between Northern Virgina/Fairfax and the Richmond area (without flying into Richmond directly) and BWI is for thos who live in Maryland.
Now if a person misses a flight from BWI to Las Vegas then Southwest can at lease re-book then from IAD, and those who accidently show up at the wrong airport. The same could be said for Miami and Ft. Lauderdale and Ft. Lauderdale and West Palm Beach Airports.

If Starbucks can prosper with a gazillion stores within a 3-foot radius I imagine SWA will be just fine, too.
